Figured it was time for a thread on this kid.
Had a bit of a different route to pro hockey. Went undrafted his draft year with pedestrian stats. Had a decent Draft +1 season with 69 points in 59 games, but still didn’t get drafted.
Then, the weird part. Missed his entire Draft +2 season with a mystery injury. Didn’t play a single game.
Ended up going back to the WHL as an overager where he played well enough to earn an ELC.
Now, he’s started his first year of pro hockey as a 21 year old like a house on fire, with 5-5-10 in his first 8 AHL games to lead the Condors in scoring and is likely a candidate for a callup if the big club sees a top 9 winger injury. It’ll be interesting to see how far he can go.
