I wonder if Edmonton would cough up O’Reilly for Brock

He could play w Drai or RNH on the RW instead of Savoie and Brown. Would add some much needed depth on the wings after Hyman

Side note but Cam Robinson becoming an insider is pretty out of left field. I wouldn't think he'd be a guy who's connected to GMs, but maybe scouting departments are subscribing to Elite Prospects.
he's been drifting that way for a while. i agree it is surprising but it has been checking out. he seems to have canuck sources.

Scored 40 last year, only 28, was extremely clutch in the playoffs last season, he's got a lot of what GMs like.
good character guy all around. Hes a guy that will "go down with this ship" type of person. gonna be a sad when hes gone.

I live in Vancouver, honestly I also live in Coquitlam. Born and Raised in the Lower Mainland, but you know good try bud. I have watched him his whole career in Vancouver, met him, and I also worked on NHL at EA in Burnaby in the Phase 2 building for 5 years, also I am credited on the games. I am sitting here at Woody's chuckling that some dickhead from somewhere near me is so presumptuous.
Not even waterboarding could get this out of me considering how badly EA has f***ed the franchise.

I wouldn’t necessarily call him one dimensional, he holds his own defensively.

I wouldn't necessarily call Boeser "one dimensional" either. But not because of anything he offers defensively. He's mediocre at best defensively, mostly useless in transition. What he can do though, is complement other top end skill extremely well. He's not just a one-dimensional shooter he was sort of typecast as. He's a very underrated offensive facilitator. He's not a "playmaker" by any means, but he's a very good passer and he's an extremely smart offensive player who understands how to move in zone to create opportunities for himself and his linemates, and he's super reliable in "keeping the play alive".

but its best for business/ best for both parties. nucks want to get faster. keep boeser his decline will be envitable. even if nucks resign him.. they dont have a miller type guy that can play with him . teams moving in a another direction. "faster" speedy type guys

A 1st round pick either 2025 or 2026 + a legit prospect.

He then defines what a "legit prospect" means and mentions a young player that used to be a 1st round pick, or a player in the AHL ready to break into the NHL. Centre or Defence.
Feels like a steep price for a UFA winger who's been over 30 goals once in his career. Basically two 1st.

I don't pay attention to the player at all, do you mind expanding on your opinion?

He's not a great transition player, he doesnt have a good first step, and he struggles with zone entries

but he is great once you are in the offensive zone with possession, in fact very efficient, good cycle numbers, good shot assist, gets to HD scoring chances.

for all the talk about the 2015 draft class, boeser is fact top 10 in scoring from that group

Hey, I didn't make any of the decisions. I just did my job. It was my first job in the industry, so it got my foot in the door. From my experience there, I met some great people. But boy did I grow to hate corporate bullshit. The calls made from above on things to cut and features to remove to increase nothing but profitability. I saw worse on FIFA. UFC 1-3 was given a lot more leeway by the executives to develop a franchise, which was fun while I had my time on that. But 3 they demand to stuff in Ultimate team.

The fundamentals problem with EA and their sports franchises is two fold.

1) It's always about the bottom line. Executives and the company answer to the share holders, not the consumer.
2) The issue is the consumer/gamers themselves. They keep buying the games, they keep forking in millions to billions of dollars in sales and Ultimate Team. Why would EA ever care if people keeping buying and spending stupid amounts. Want change in games or specifically NHL, speak with your wallet, don't buy the game and don't spend anymore on ultimate team.

I think Edmonton would only consider a deal like this if they could talk to Boeser and gauge his interest in re-signing in Edmonton long term. It wouldn't be worth it to lose O'Reilly for a rental, but it might be if we can lock up a 30 goal scorer.

Agreed. I think that would help both clubs a lot.
