I’m not sure what the agreement was. If he did agree to be 7th D then I am not sure why he’s complaining. It sounds like he expected to be playing regularly and not be a reserve player
He could have gotten into some of the less meaningful games post-elim to be able to audition for next year. It's not like the rangers had some sick defensive lineup this year.I don't see the issue, here. You're not good enough to crack the lineup and were a backup in the first place. Suck it up.

???Today I learned that Calvin de Haan is still in the NHL.
beat me to it.If it wasn't the Rangers and it wasn't this season I'd be perfectly OK with just writing this off as an over the hill vet being disgruntled he's not good enough to crack the lineup. But just within this season and last season you've seen or heard similar sentiments from Barclay Goodrow, Jacob Trouba, and Kaapo Kakko. It's obvious people within this organization are overpromising and under delivering. Hockey players in general and these guys in particular don't put out opinions like these in public unless they feel they've been treated dishonestly.
Plus all that mid-season drama of disgruntled players being shipped out. I agreed with those moves, but wondered how that situation was allowed to fester so badly in the first place. If this was a one off situation I might not think much of it, but this is one of a handful of players now that have (publicly or privately) expressed extreme frustrations with the way the organization is being ran.
How when they won't even let him play?Perhaps he could try being better at his job
