Give me a bamboo stick and 10 minutes in alone in a room with the dipshit making these schedules. Every f***ing playoff we've got 9pm local puck drops to accommodate whatever East coast bullshit is playing.

How about they just start those games at 3pm instead if they wanna try to manufacture interest by stacking games on top of each other?

He put up 41 points in his first 82 career games. He probably maxes out at 65 points in a season, but he's $900k and then a couple more years of $3m or so. The $9m difference for ~20 extra points for Rantanen is better spent elsewhere (like next year: Granlund and Duchene)
It's a very small sample size you're using to make that assessment. I dont know if Rantanen will be a 100-point producer for, let's say 4-5 of those 8 seasons with Dallas, but if is in the 80-100 range, that's good ROI. If it's in the 70 point range or worse, it does become an overpayment/bust of a signing.

As for this season, I just don't know if things are hunky dory in the locker room him to be able to gel with his linemates and make a significant difference in this series vs Avs. I think Avs likely send Stars packing and people here seem to think that that'll be the end of the PDB era, and dare I say, the GMJN era too- who will fail upward to some President-level position- should DeBoer be fired.

Stars have only 27.5% of the HF-vote. That's a bit surprising.

And half that vote was probably before

- Chris Johnston said Heiskanen making it back for round 1 was wishful thinking.
- Jason Robertson got hurt.

Too many things are falling in favor of the Avs... I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Unless Nuke recruits Mack and Makar into hitting the slopes and they become indisposed for the series, the other shoe won't drop until at least the next round. :sarcasm:

Fingers crossed it does though because I'd like this series to not just be a continuation of the Stars' downward spiral to end the season.

I've seen Bednar fall to DeBoer teams too many times to feel comfortable with anything.

Dallas still has an extremely good forward group, even without Robertson. Their physical forecheck is going to give Sam Girard nightmares. But yeah Dallas' defense is shockingly bad, MacKinnon is going to have a field day in Denver when Bednar gets last change.

Dallas D and inconsistent play from Oettinger will sink their battle ship. Expecting Duchene and an underwelming Rantanen so far to beat this AVS team is wishful thinking

While its a small sample size, He’s what - 24 pts in 34 games since the trade? He no longer has a linemate who’s top 5 in scoring and arguably the best player in the game so thats clearly goinf to afdect his numbers. And I know it takes awhile to adjust from a trade but I think somebody posted “rantanen without mackinnon” numbers and it was like 79 pts in 81 games. Add in a little age regression ea
Yr and thats where I think this ends up

Thats just my prediction; i can see you’re point of view and I hope you’re right. I just don’t think im the only one out there that feels this way

TSN Insider Chris Johnston:

"Right now they are hoping he'll be available for that round one series, but I think it's not much more than hope at this point in time.

It does sound like from sources close to the situation, it's very possible Heiskanen is not available at all during the first round to the Dallas Stars. He had a knee surgery, has been out since the end of January. He did resume skating at the end of March, but that's a pretty long period of time to be recovering.

Obviously, when it comes to the playoffs, sometimes those injury timelines get shrunk and guys find a way to get back in the lineup, but right now it's far from a certainty we'll see Heiskanen in that first-round series."

dallas has no shot if this is true

Going with Stars in 7.
Basing it solely on goaltending where the Stars have an obvious edge.

The Avs with legit goaltending is a terrifying prospect for the rest of the league.
