Sounds like game 4. If they lose last night who knows, maybe they force him a game early.

And I’d have to imagine the Avs play Gabe next game, playing Wood cost them last night.
Gabe would have been a complete non-factor in the OT. Having a couple of games at the A wouldn't have gotten his stamina up to anywhere close to where it would have needed to be in the extra frame.

It's not a bad AAV, especially with the rising cap, but that Miles Wood deal (4 yrs after this one, 2.5 AAV) is a classic example of why teams have historically shyed away from long-term deals towards bottom 6ers. I didnt realize he had fallen so out of favor this year. Dealing with that buyout (if it goes that route) will be a minor pain.

Honest question for Colorado fans...Nelson has no points yet.....How concerned are you guys about the #2 center position ?

(asked this late last night in the GDT but only got one reply, wanted to ask again hoping more Av's fans see it and get the chance to reply because the Game 1 GDT is closed)

Being on the Avs forum a lot, my take is that most Avs fans have not been too happy with him so far. Some think it has to do with linemates but most feel he’s been an overall disappointment. He seemed to click fairly well with Necas, who has since been put back with Mack, but doesn’t have chemistry with Nuke so far. In his defence, Nuke hasn’t played like he can for a fair bit now and if he could get to the level he can, Nelson would benefit greatly.

When you watch it closely do you think Nuke is struggling becasue he doesn't have a good enough set up man ?

IMO, no. He’s just slumping. He’s usually very good at the details so when he’s not putting up points he’s still a big cog of our team. Lately he’s been missing details on the defensive side of things and not winning board battles in the offensive zone like he usually does. He’s less of a monster on the forecheck than usual. Same thing with Lehkonen right now as well. These three are on a line together currently and it is compounding the problem a bit.

Ok thanks.....

Brutal. They (2nd line) possess the puck a ton and sure, dont actively hurt you, but we expect a lot of depth scoring. Id be shocked if the top 6 wasnt shuffled going forward and was disappointed it wasnt mid-game 2.

Drouin-MacKinnon-Nuke
Lehkonen-Nelson-Necas

Ladneskog maybe thrown in randomly if he plays well/maybe only on the PP.

Dallas' 5v5 play has been exceptional so far. 61.4% expected goals. Really didn't see it coming, considering who they're playing without and how they played the last 2.5 months.

Although, to be fair, Game 1 was pretty dead even 5v5. Most of the disparity comes from last night where the Stars dominated even strength.

Dallas was the better team in Game 2, but it's a tough pill to swallow losing on a play like that. Neutral ice turnover, followed by chaos and missed assignments on the back check. All of this caused by Miles Wood, a low hockey IQ player who shouldn't even be dressed.

If there's anything the last two series' between Avs and Stars have taught us, it's that Miles Wood is absolutely going to generate goals in overtime.

For which team, no one knows, but that brainless buffoon is generating OT goals.

The best part of playing the Avs in the playoffs is checking the Altitude Sports Spotify recap after wins and listening to McGahey spew off the worst radio PbP imaginable.

Wood will be gone after this season. I am pretty sure it wont be a buyout.

McGahey is terrible. He’s a complete hack. His expressions are amateurish.

I mean I can’t even argue against it, Marchment does dive lol.

As he should. It's the postseason, every guy on the ice should be trying to draw penalties every chance they get. I'll never understand people complaining about that. Literally every team does it, you'd be at a disadvantage if you didn't.

How us Avs fans were cursed with both Moser and McGahey is so unfair. They are the f***ing worst. The Kroenkes don't look for talent when hiring people, only yes men that will wax their pipes the time.

I started listening to the opposing team's broadcast when I watch the Avs. If I have to hear Moser scream "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" or one of McGahey's stupid player themed phrases that he says 25 times a game, I'm going to f***ing lose it.

The vast majority of team PBP announcers are biased towards their team. Understandably. So I still listen to Moser and McGahey because I'd rather listen to pro-Avs bias than anti-Avs bias. Moser to me is a little bit of a bumbling idiot. Him and Rycroft are at times unprofessional and juvenile, but it can be amusing. McGahey gets to me with the catchphrases though.

Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls of all ages THIS is a tie hockey game.

Every. f***ing. Time.
