The best team over the entire season vs the best team since the February break. Tough opponent for the Pres trophy winners, they deserved the wild

Anyways I think the Blues suprise and take this in 6

Blues are the best of the non favourites list of teams, very good team, city and fans. Nothing but respect for them. When the Jets returned, I remember there was a lot of talk about who will the Jets try to emulate as far as how to run the team and organization, I thought of two teams…..Predators & Blues bc how well run and respected both were, my opinion 14 years later hasn’t changed.

I would’ve given Winnipeg about a 60/40 edge normally but with Holloway out I see it more as 70/30. Holloway was simply a force this season, especially once Monty became coach. His speed is killer and he was one of our best 5 on 5 and PP performers. Yeah, I know Ehlers is out too but the Jets seem to have a bit more depth to pull from. The Blues are a tough team and will be a tough out but I’ll still say Jets in 6.

That said, Go Blues!

I think the Blues will acquit themselves well but ultimately lose to the better team in 6-7 games. I’m still surprised they even made the postseason so it’s tough to get too worked up about how it shakes out.

I'm picking my jets as always, buuuuut if there was ever a team to not count out it would be one of alternative fave teams... da blues! That all being said jets in 4!!

If you think living rent free in someone’s head is a flex, then that says more about you than them.
It's funny that I am pretty sure I know who this is you're responding to. He's on my ignore list now but you can expect him to be in this thread constantly if the Jets are losing. Imagine spending your days doing this, LOL.

This is such an odd post to me. What a weird play to hold on to I went back and watched highlights of that game 5 to see if it was in there and it was surprisingly. I don't know how you can fault him for that he is falling down from a check from Parayko while trying to get his stick on the puck, hardly a screw up just an unfortunate result if your a Jets fan. Yes it was significant but there are 100 plays a game that if this or that happened differently it would change the outcome of said game. If the shot was a quarter of an inch this way or that way it goes in or gets stopped. At that point in the game it was still 2-0 Jets, they were still in control, it wasn't that play that decided that game. Especially since there was an even more egregious play in the same game. When Trouba tried to swallow a puck against boards behind his goalie with 20+ seconds left.
It was just that had he not tried to tap it in the puck would have gone in.
Jets up 3-0 at that point have a way higher chance of winning that game and then everything is different from that point and they may have won the series.
I also complain because we wasted a 1st round pick on that trade and Hayes was terrible for us.
Eventually being demoted to the 4th line.

Ehlers has 14 in 37.

Difference is Ehlers has always been a top 6 player expected to produce more. Holloway did that from the Oilers bottom lines, and since coming to the Blues has been a top 6 player. But im sure you knew that
So we just assume that Holloway is going to improve his playoff performance, but despite Ehlers improving his production drastically this year, he won't.

Got it.

Ehlers, like many other playoff disappointment players around the league, is well past the point of getting the benefit of the doubt this time of year

Neither Holloway or Ehlers will be playing in the series, so enough squawking about them.

Jets in 5 or 6 is the most likely result here.

Statistically, the Blues haven't been great in their last 10. They're getting outshot and outchanced most games, and relying on unsustainable PP% and SH%

When the Jets played them two weeks ago, they didn't get a sniff at 5v5. If they can't generate more than this, they'll be in big trouble

That said... we also crushed the Avs 7-0 right before the playoffs last year and they went on to push our shit in badly

Just feels like probably the worst matchup the Jets could want in round 1. Blues are better than their place in the standings and will attack the net hard. Helle might have the most to prove in the entire NHL in round 1

I feel bad for the Jets on this draw but am excited to see all the side storylines here.

Binner vs Helle
Four nations animosity
Presidents trophy team vs. Hottest team since the break
Rematch of 2019
Schenn vs Schenn

I really hope my Blues win but I wouldn't be ashamed to lose to this Jets team. I hope we can shut down Connor who always seems to have our number. This should be a close series with perhaps a blowout or two. There are too many factors in my head to narrow it down so I am just going to enjoy the series. Im sure Ill have some bad stuff to say during but I wish nothing but the best to the Jets and their fans. I hope whoever comes out of this beats the snot out of the rest of the WC teams. No prediction

Side note - I would also love to beat the Jets and Stars again in that order as a Blues fan!!
