What about it? Jets played a great defensive game and shut the Blues down. I even posted as much on the Jets board afterward. Playoffs are a different animal, momentum changes can be a downfall. As I said in my first post in this thread that is why I see the key to this round being Hellebuyck. He is a great goalie but in the past he hasn't had much post season success, if he lets a bad goal in is he going to be able to shrug it off and get back to it or is he going to unravel.
It just seems bizarre as hell to wander off 6 years ago when we just played each other very recently lol

Would not be surprised if Binnington stands on his head, Hellebuyck flutters and for the second time the Jets run into a hot Blues team. Could also be that the Jets are on their redemption arc, with a possible St-Louis-Colorado-Vegas path. Looks like Samberg and Vilardi will be back in time, which would be huge. I say after a nervous start the Jets eventually take it in 6.

The Blues are a good team. But this is Winnipeg in 5.

I voted Blues in 7 because that’s what my Blues tinted glasses see.

That being said realistically the Blues are very much an underdog in this one. So I’ll be happy if we can avoid a Jets sweep. Some interesting storylines already, 4 Nations goalie rematch, Schenn vs. Schenn, will Holloway (Blues) and Ehlers (Jets) be able to return from injury and factor in for their teams?, does the President’s Trophy curse come into play for the Jets?

Looking forward to the 8:45-9pm central time starts the NHL is going to give us all this series!

These playoff matches sometimes start with a like for each others fan bases. For the record, the Blues fans are good people from all I've seen in the years here. However, something will happen during the game or someone posts something cocky and it devolves in to dislike and even hatred. So enjoy this time right now of mutual respect because it can/does disappear very quickly. Jets in five.

I like the storyline with Binnington and Helleybuyck.
This goaltender matchup feels like one of the most compelling battles in the first round. Helleybuyck is probably the best goaltender on planet right now but Binnington is proven and turns into a beast when the circumstances matter.

Regardless of who wins, the winner of this playoff series will have a goaltender who will be a problem for everyone else going forward in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Jets are going to choke and fail - like they always do come playoffs. Helle about to be lit up.

I voted Blues in 6. It's going to be a very high scoring affair too.

Jets in 6, out of respect for what the Blues have done lately.
I was at the Jets/Blues game on April 7th. Jets were in control for most of the game. They Jets have played their best hockey against the best teams this year. This team is on another level this year.
Everyone has a big chip on their shoulder.
Scheifele is pissed that he didn;t make team Canada when he had the most goals out of any Canadian player.
Hellebuyck is pissed that he lost the final.
Connor is pissed that he was scratched in the last game so Tkachuk could play all of a couple minutes,
and Morrissey is pissed that he was sick in the final and couldn't play.

The revenge tour starts now.

As a Blues fan, it feels like it's Winnipeg's time to go on a little run while the Blues are probably a year or two ahead of schedule. Holloway is a killer loss as he was playing incredible hockey and gave the Blues two really solid forward lines. We have some young guys who are uber-talented but are just getting their first taste of playoff hockey. If that final game in the Peg was any indication, I expect a very tight checking, low scoring series with two very good defensive, well-coached, well structured systems. The Blues under Montgomery are in the upper echelon of preventing rush attack chances. The Daily Faceoff just did a detailed breakdown of their scheme. Then you throw in two really good goalies and you get the sense it will be a lot of scratching & clawing for offense w/ special teams looming large. Gun to my head, WPG in 6.

Should be a great series with several interesting story lines, Schenns, 4 Natiions Goalie Match Up, 2019 rematch, etc.

Jets are definitely heavy favorites but I think the Blues will put up a good fight.

I've had a soft spot for the Blues ever since they traded Stastny to us for the 2018 run. That said, this was my least favoured matchup of the three teams chasing wildcard #2 (Minnesota was my first choice, Calgary a close second).

Here's hoping the Jets follow the Tampa blueprint from 2019 & 2020 when they went from the Presidents trophy winners and an embarrassing first round loss to Stanley Cup winners.

I have no idea what I should be predicting on the series though.
