Bardakov is expected to sign his ELC now, and I don't think we have a thread for him yet, so here we go. Discuss here.

Is he actually a "center" prospect? Or will he be playing winger as a pro?
That's up for debate, I guess. I don't have the fine eye for skating that henchy has, so I couldn't tell you with any certainty. He's listed as a C on Elite Prospects, so that's what I put down. May be subject to change.

Hopefully he comes back here when his contract with the Aves runs out
If we all of sudden start hitting on picks I'm going to be so damn proud of boy.

Also, if anyone could unlock the secret of Æ/60 and how to use it for the teams benefit, it would be our boy.

If that takes off, we'll know Henchy's done well and made his permanent mark on advanced stats.

Bardakov is a NJ draft pick.

However, they have improved on the drafting. Not many of those guys are in the organization, but they are pumping out some NHLers. No home run picks but depth. Compared that to the run they had where nothing resulted into anything without a top 10 pick it's an improvement, but the bar was set really damn low.

If Conner Bleackley could read he’d be very upset with you right now.

If Connor Bleackley could read, he would have pursued a different career.

Dude is just f***ed on so many levels.
Why would he have pursued a different career?

His lack of ability to play high level hockey didn't hold him back from attempting to be a hockey player.

His lack of literacy shouldn't have held him back from trying to pass the bar.

I wonder if the Avs could be looking at Coyle-Bardakov for 2C-3C next season or they will get him to start in the AHL. It took a bit of time for him to make his decision so maybe the Avs had to give him some assurance that he will start in the NHL. You can always play Drury at 3C and Bardakov at 4C to start the season to give him time to get use to the NHL. Looking forward to see their plan with him. If he can stay out of the box and play good D IMO he can be a Bednar-type player.

Let's let the guy play a single game in North America before talking him up as an NHL regular let alone a 3C.

I think we should temper our expectations with Bardakov here. There's a big difference between the NHL and North American hockey. The rink is smaller and you have a lot less time and space, so offensive numbers don't always translate. We also don't even know if he will end up as a center or a winger. Frankly, we don't know if he isn't going to completely bust. Remember how excited we all were about Mironov coming over? He could very well get frustrated and storm off back to Russia by January the way Zhuravlyov did.

I think "everyday 4th liner" would be a great result. Anything more than that is gravy.

The ideal scenario for me is all three Russians come over together next year and play in the AHL while living together along with Prischepov.

Get them a full season of North America hockey then hopefully all ready for 26-27.
What do you mean "all ready"?

I'll be more than happy if ONE of them becomes a regular one day in the NHL. I'm not expecting it though.

He's finally going to replace Kadri and frankly I don't like your pessimism.

I have NHL hopes for both Gulyayev and Nabokov, even if they are 3rd pairing and backup goalies, respectively. Those are still valuable NHL roles.

If Bardhakov can join them, even better.
