Would be nice if we had a GM who could see the forest through the trees. But that's obviously too much to ask it appears.

His stats should be night and day better. But for some reason, they'd rather pay Cozens more come contract time and pad his points, rather than up the stats on a guy that doesn't fit into their future.

Oh well

Such an odd response. VO was a stud on the power play with an elite shot.

The Sabres, for whatever reason, have done everything in their power it seems to lower his value.

I make these judgments as a real Buffalonian and real Sabres fan. I know we're frowned upon here.
Going from PP1 to PP2 is not nearly everything a team could do to lower a player's value. Olofsson is doing much more on his own to lower his value. Seeing as 75% of his ice time is 5v5, maybe his shot on the PP doesn't actually matter that much anyway. Maybe he should try to be a more complete player. Even real Sabres fans with multiple user names over the years can understand.

Cozens replacing Olofsson on PP1 was a catalyst for our PP going from being ok/good to being elite. I think they are trying to win, not pump up anyone's trade value.

Your combination of sarcasm and pure trolling has many posters up in the air about anything you mean in any given post.
I mean the words that are typed

I have no agenda.

Need to go on with the rest of my day though. Look forward to coming back later on to see how many other posters have no idea what I'm saying and telling me I'm not legitimate.

Looking forward to tonight's game

I understand that you mean why put cozens in a position to pump his contract value and not try to pump VO's value once we trade him, to play devil's advocate, the reason most likely is to allow further development of cozens and show him our trust in him to avoid a bridge and get him locked up long term before the big cap spike

Maybe they want to win?

It’s time to make decisions that are best for on ice success now, and not potentially being successful at some point in the future.

Jiri Kulich, LW, Buffalo

Kulich has been very good in the AHL for an 18-year-old, playing a significant role on Rochester’s team. Kulich has skill and can score goals. That’s been evident in how he’s scored against men and juniors historically, but it’s his style of play that has really appealed to scouts. He is a competitor who gives an honest effort every night, goes to the high traffic areas, and has good pace in his game. I wouldn’t call him a dynamic player, but he does a lot of things very well and just continues to produce, coming off a great world juniors as well.

Are you insinuating that Cozens having good production is a bad thing for the future of the team? This is deluded thinking

26. Jiri Kulich, LW/RW, 18 (Buffalo Sabres — No. 28, 2022)
July 2022 rank: Not ranked

Kulich is a sturdy, driven player who can morph his game to his role. He can function as the detail-oriented, above-puck defender who makes quick plays and stays on pucks. He can play off of talented linemates to free his dangerous shooting arsenal up. Or he can carry the puck and function as the primary handler on a line. I like his positioning off the puck. I like the strength, balance and control of his skating stride. I like how quickly and hard shots come off of his stick (not just with his world-class one-timer but through a deceptive early release point in stride too).

He’s got quick hands and flashes skill with the puck on a string one-on-one and under the triangles of defenders’ sticks. He’s got good feel around the net. He plays hard. His skating is noticeable off the puck in his ability to pursue and recapture possession to extend sequences. The ice tends to tilt in his favor when he’s on it. He stays over pucks and protects them extremely well. He supports play well. There’s a lot to like about his makeup. He just looks like a pro — and has played like one as an 18-year-old in the AHL this year. I have no doubt at this point that he’s going to be an NHLer — and maybe a very good one.

He is not untradeable, but close to it for me. I want the Sabres to be patient with him, and play him top line in all situations next year.....IN THE AHL! Not the NHL. He has the right DNA I am looking for in middle six wingers. He still is slightly below average size for the NHL, but has plenty of room to put weight on his frame. Slow cook this one and we will have a nice piece to add into the middle six on and ELC in a couple years.

Breakaway goal to go along with his assist earlier in the night after two periods.
