I didn’t realize until i looked but CBJ were over 500 coming into this game. And we just smashed them.

and the Canes are right there with us. Going to be different tomorrow especially with us have played 6 in 8 (and 3 in 4). Will be a big test. The schedule gods not nice on this one. Another reason why a win tomorrow would be amazing.

Looked like the mother of all reverse trap games for them. Tomorrow will be an interesting barometer since Caps will be in a similar spot with an away back to back 5PM game against a good team

As a frequent critic, I have to say that Sandin has looked good this week and filled in well for guys out. You’d hope with the team scoring more his offensive skill would show up, and it has.

That said, teams with a good forecheck, like the Canes, are when he can get caved in. Hope Chychrun and Roy are back soon.

Yeah Sandin has some nice moves and you can see he's more suited to an offensive D role. Still a high risk player imo, with turnovers and not always getting the puck out of the zone when he plays it along the boards.

Canes could definitely exploit that tomorrow

I think Sandin is one of those players where in general he’s very solid, but when he has a gaff it looks and is REALLY bad. I think Chychrun has a similar overconfidence thing, but he’s bigger and faster so he makes up for it better.

Too bad Ovi doesn’t have a tie in with a better pizza place. Always thought Papa John’s sauce was way too sweet. Same with Ledo’s

If I got the #s right, Stromer has 16 pts in 9 games. He likely won't sustain that rate, but all 7 players in the league with more points have needed at least 10 games to reach their totals.

Caps are 8-2 brother. For math and all

Ya. That stat (combo of stats) just doesn’t work in that game. Sure you can make argument that with the xG, the caps won’t get out and to type of lead a lot.. but they did. Then the game plan completely changes after that. Deriving anything from fancy stats after the first 15’mins just won’t work.

It's just another example of how Fancy Stats don't work well in Hockey vs other sports

When you go to these fancy stat websites and look up their dozens of weighted factors just to get to an "acceptable" % of the outcome they're trying to predict it can be laughable how inaccurate they often are

So when ppl start rattling off various fancy stats as "The Truth" it's pretty LOL
