Pavel Buchnevich
"Pavel Buchnevich The Fake"
I'm not that familiar with Minnesota high school hockey history, but apparently this kid's father was a very good player and was too small to succeed once he moved past high school. He similarly is probably going to face that same challenge. He's a 5'8 center, but I think he's good, despite being undersized. He plays both ends of the rink, skates well, and was third on the American Select team in points. Could be too small to be drafted for a player that has closer to ordinary good capabilities, but he has two years before his draft, so he could get taller or improve his game. I think he'll be on the draft radar the next few years. I can't figure out where he'll play next season. He was drafted into the USHL, WHL, and is from Minnesota, so I think all three could be possible places he'll play. Committed to Denver for 2026-27.
