quote from NYR board:

Sandberg is a pretty unique player. 5'9 skilled center with really really impressive hands. His entire career, he has been used as more or less a pure shut down center. He is very clutch defensively. Great on draws. Very disciplined and smart. Coaches loves him. Good speed, very quick and agile, top speed could be better. Good vision. Good shot. He doesn't quite have that like overall "motor" to be a big star in like the SHL. He has always been on every national team no matter what stage etc,

Per Swedish source, some teams are interested by HV71 F Filip Sandberg.

Sounds kind of like a shorter Oscar Lindberg (I could be way off) from the description, could be a good bottom sixer

When was the last time a 23 year old who scored 25 points made the NHL? AHL fodder.

There is much more his game than points. If you wait TOP6 talent you will be disappointed, but Sandberg is good BOTTOM6 guy. Has been used as more or less a pure shut down center. I think it's great move for Sharks, nothing to lose.
