Luca Romano is a centreman playing for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 GTHL team. He is a guy that has gotten better as the season has progressed in my opinionand is now a strong candidate to go in the first round of the upcoming OHL draft. He has some real good two way habits already at his age too.

Romano does a great job of playing off his linemates down low. I watched a Really impressive shift where he was being hounded by a defender behind him while down low in the offensive zone and he wouldn’t lose the puck. He had excellent body positioning and balance to fend the defender off where he eventually shovelled it to Nico Addy. Very good at winning loose puck battles because of his excellent timed stick lifts, and checks. Also showed great anticipation with where he positioned himself on the ice - for steals and then made scoring opportunities with those steals. Showed off strong edgework and skating ability all night. At times would just take a lap around the offensive end at high speed awaiting a lane to open up. Give and go with #92 Addy that lead to a goal - impressive work by Romano to keep the puck from going offside and to attack the outside with speed which opened up lanes. Finished with 2 goals and an assist on the night. Impressive showing

Humming along at a just sub PPG pace for Kitchener and just ranked as a low-end first rounder in the latest McKeen's consensus rankings in what is a pretty incredible OHL group.

How's his play been in this season? Seems like a riser.

I watch all the Rangers games. If you are bumping someone in the top 25 it should be Reid on the Rangers. Romano is playing very solid and I see him in the 25 to 45 range. If he can maintain this great streak for another 15 or 25 games then ya let’s discuss 1st round potential.
Reid was indeed already in my Top-25! He's been so good.

I've only watched 3 games of Romano (his last 2 + 1 from Sept.) but I've been really impressed (he also caught my attention a lot when I was watching Reid). So my sample is still small, but his skating and release are so good, even if the production slows down, I personally don't think many players have that kind of offensive upside after the Top-20. But that could be puppy love.
