Jordan Kawaguchi is an Interesting Player.
He went Undrafted in 2015, after scoring 56 points in 53 games in the BCHL.
He Committed to North Dakota in 2017, and has played 3 years with the Team since.
Now, as of February 27th, Kawaguchi Leads North Dakota in scoring, Who are now the #1 Team in the NCAA.

Jordan Kawaguchi hasn't been Signed by any NHL team yet.

Will He Join the NHL? Let's Discuss.

I'd think that at 5'9 and undrafted, he'll finish his degree first? Maybe someone will give him a look in preseason, but he's got another year of college to go, where he'll get to lead his NCAA team. He'll keep getting more exposure, and can make a Hobey Baker run. Just my take.

Know how his speed/skating is? From the highlights I was able to find, he certainly seems to have hands and quick processing. I didn't really get a feel for much else, but he certainly is willing to go to the dirty areas, especially for a smaller player.

Typically you don't see NCAA guys sign during the season since that would make them ineligible to continue playing in college as opposed to CHL guys who can sign during the season.

An NHL.com article from last week mentioned that Kawaguchi was on the radar to get an ELC. Whether he'd sign this spring or return for his senior year is another question though.

North Dakota captain this year. Any chance to update this thread?

Any likelihood of him signing as a UFA following the season or is he more likely to have a career in Europe if he wishes to keep playing?

Abbotsford hockey star weighs free-agent route after solid NCAA season | The Province

It sounded like there were a few teams willing to give him an ELC after last season but he opted to return and finish out his college career. Not sure if he'll be an NHL player (as the article mentioned, his skating might hold him back), but I think he'll get a chance. Since he'll be 24 if/when he signs in the spring, he'd be required to sign a 1 year ELC so there wouldn't be a ton of risk for a team wanting to sign him.

Couldn't find any information about him having attended an NHL Development camp in the past.

I imagine he would have this past summer had that been an option.
