Jaeger White played in the AMBHL this season and had 28+23=51 in 32 being the youngest player on his team...

Jaeger was rookie of the year for AMBHL South division. He is imop the second best 98 forward in the Province behind Tyler Benson. Two other 98 birthdates to remember are Kale Clague and David Quennville both defencemen. This group is the strongest that Alberta has seen in a long time.

Is Jaeger White the same kid that was also dominating baseball as a pitcher too?

Benson was on a pretty strong team this season... White had to carry Red Deer pretty much on his own.

White is going to Burnaby Winter Club next season... gotta fill that spot that Barzal had the past 2 years

AWESOME TO HEAR.

Will do a lot for good positioning for the WHL draft.

He's eligible for next year right?

I recall searching for hockey prodigies on YouTube and discovering footage of Jaeger White about a year ago. I found it interesting that the only comments beneath the videos were left by his classmates and peers, who all teased and taunted him.

Take a look at both top comments. It's a bunch of kids whining about him.

Yeah I noticed that too. Disappointing. Kids are so evil. He is a little flamboyant but he's a damn good hockey player though.

Thought I'd bump this since we have the Tyler Benson thread..

White has apparently been piling up the points after moving to Vancouver this spring to play with BWC.
The PCAHA protects their stats for whatever reason, but he apparently had 18 points in two games this weekend, with 15 coming against lowly Cloverdale.
He's still a top prospect for the next WHL Bantam Draft.

Berger, on the other hand, seems like he may have plateaued a bit.
When I looked for his peewee stats last season, I could not find them since he was not among the top scorers in the league (SCAHL only shows top scorers for peewee).
He's moved onto bantam this year and plays for the Red Deer Ramada.
He's second in team scoring with five points (4+1) in twelve games (leader has 4+2).

Ya, White's Burnaby Winter Club won a game 22-0 over the weekend and he had 15 points in the game.

Saw him play against the unfortunate Cloverdale.

Its hard to say White dominated when the play was always in the Cloverdale's zone and the shots were around 78-2. When its that lopsided, its not easy to tell.

He is, however, a good sized kid that skates well (although could improve those initial bursts) and has some crafty stickhandling. His real main skill is his scoring ability, able to sneak into scoring positions and really unload a heavy and accurate shot.

But again, its hard to really tell when the game was that lopsided.

Best of luck to both guys. Looking forward to seeing how their careers progress. Oh and yes hearing about hockey players born in 1998 and 1999 being hockey prospects for the future makes me feel old.

This guy really flamed out. On his 3rd team in the W this season. Wonder what precipitated that..

hes a prime example why its sooooo ridiculous for people to do mock drafts many years in advance like we see done on here always. He was UNREAL in minor hockey and people assumed he would be the next big thing... Buuuuut then he played junior against older competition and he has been terrible.

I don't rank anyone until their 16 year old seasons in junior. Anything before that is a waste of time IMO

What was it that didn't work for him in the Dub though?

He just can't handle the speed of the league. He formed a lot of bad habits when he was coming up because he was such a talent offensively. He was also bigger than a lot of kids at age 12/13; and since then he has barely grown and has put on maybe 15-20 pounds. I think those sort of factors marginalized the need for him to improve the weaker areas of his game.

It's never 'over' and you can see the guy has a boatload of skill. But he's very slight and not a great skater, he plays pretty timidly and routinely gets pushed off the puck. In the W that is just a recipe for disaster.

To be honest, I wonder if there are other issues with him (not saying character, I have no insights into what he is like as a person). I don't want to slander the kid or speculate negatively towards him. But it seems like his desire to play hockey is not all there. Maybe he is burnt out like Pilon was? Or he's frustrated that he dominated his peers for so long growing up, only to get leapfrogged once he got to a bigger stage.
