Belarussian forward who appears to be a late bloomer . He was under a ppg in the WHL as an 18 year old but now is producing really well in the KHL with 18 pts in 29 gp thus far at 20 years old. He has a later birthday being born in August and I think an NHL team would be wise to take a shot at him.

Somewhere down the road one of them probably will. Don't really see the reason for him to move to NA in the immediate future.

Ilya Usov's PPG (0.70) is similar to Gritsyuk (0.71) and Rashevsky (0.78)... playing style aside he appears to be in good company and is having a productive season. You have to imagine he's already on the radar for a few teams, no?

Ilya Usov is 20-years old (born: August 3, 2001). He will turn age 21 before December 31, 2022. He played his age-18 and age-19 seasons in North America, went undrafted in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Is now playing in KHL (contract ends this season).

So he would be eligible to be signed as free agent, if I am reading the rules correctly:

8.4.A.IV “A Player age 21 or older who: (A) has not been selected in a previous Entry Draft and (B) played hockey for at least one season in North America when he was age 18, 19, or 20 and shall be eligible to enter the League as an Unrestricted Free Agent”

8.10 “’Age 21’ means a Player reaching his twenty-first birthday by December 31 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft”

...No?
