C Dylan Gambrell - Denver Pioneers, NCAA (2016, 60th, SJS)

I searched but I did not see a thread on this kid.

He is easily one of the most consistent players in all of NCAA Hockey, he obviously is massively looked over as a prospect as he seemingly gets little talk on here. Just a well rounded, jack of all trades center that isn't going to scorch the stat sheets but is going to be a very responsible two-way center that can carve out an excellent career for the Sharks.

Sharks fans have to be excited about this kid, are there indications he will sign this year and not go all 4 years??

His interview about going back to school this year sounded a little vague on the issue.

“When it came down to it, there was no wrong decision, I think,” Gambrell said in a phone interview from his home in Bonney Lake, Wash. “Obviously, we’re at a great place in Denver. We have a phenomenal coaching staff. Our team is right up there with the best, obviously. But for me, it was a great opportunity in San Jose. It’s what you work for as a player your whole life. You want to make it to the NHL. I took a lot of advice, talked to a lot of people. I took my time with the decision because I didn’t want to rush it and have emotions taking over.”

I hadn’t even considered the idea that he might not sign. Geez, that would be awful. Gambrell is like our best prospect.

I feel like the expectation is for him to sign this year but if he doesn't then I think he's going to free agency next year.

We have same situation with terry... do they play together in college? Wonder if they might try to end up on a team together, if neither sign this year.
