He was the 3rd pick in the 2012 Q draft behind Audette and Pepin, where is he projected to go in this years draft? Will he even get drafted?

He's definitely getting drafted, I've heard him mentioned as a second, or possibly first round pick, but this early, there's not much point in guessing exactly where he gets drafted. He's got the skill to go early in the draft though.

He actually managed a pretty good rookie season considering how terrible Cape Breton was.

Where'd you hear that ?? He's going to have to have a big year to even get drafted imo. He has skill but still hasn't shown much as of yet.

Really like him as a prospect. Could definitely be a 2nd round pick if he'll have a straong season.

I think his offense will really go up next season, also have a very good two-way game and play bigger than his size. Really fast skater.

I can see him being a big riser. His two-way game is very good and he has enough offensive skill to put up points. Hopefully playing with a guy like Lazarev will really kickstart his production.

i can see him pushing for 1st round in next years draft....he is super smart, great character, plays hard every shift, a great skater, one of the best two way players for his age, excellent passing skills, good shooting skills, he is gritty....the kid has too much skill to fail on and was very good on a bad team last year and at the World Under 17s he was one of the best players there and proved his worth playing with decent players on again another bad team but at least the line was good he was on....but he was one of the best in a world tournament....so for the person above who said he has not proven anything yet they are just looking at stats in the QMJHL season and not what he is actually doing on the ice or his potential.

I'm assuming that's regarded towards me ? If it is , I didn't say he hasn't proven anything, just say he'll have to have a big year to be considered a high pick. I watched him play about a dozen games this past season and just think he has a way to go. He does have some good tools like his skating , hockey sense and he's reliable in all three zones. Maybe I'm seeing things a little differently because the majority of the games I watched him were in the first half of the season. Either way I think most would agree that he'll have to have a big year to be considered in the top 60.

He is a top 3-5 pick from the Q right now. Depends what you mean by big year. I can see him getting 40-50 points and going top 60.

it was directed towards you lol...I personally see him being a 1st round pick or pretty close to that.

And all I was saying is for that to happen he'll have to have a big season , wouldn't you agree ?

It's probably the bolded part that got the reaction. Seems like you're suggesting that he'll go undrafted unless he has a big year, let alone go top 60.

not sure what your take on a big season is but IMO if he scores like 65 points or more, plays a great defensive game too and shows great character on the ice I think he goes 1st round.

Currently watching him, love his skill-set, hockey sense, and 200ft game. But boy does he ever need to fill out. That'll come, though. Might not help his draft stock, but when he gets stronger, he'll be a solid player.

I hate doing comparisons but does anyone else see this kid and think of Darren Helm?

I know his career high in the NHL is only about 30-35 points in the bottom 6 for Detroit but it isn't meant as a put down. He's usually one of the fastest guys on the ice, he shows good hockey IQ in all three zones, but his contributions don't typically show up in the boxscores. He's not going to be an overwhelming offensive forward but he doesn't have to be with the way he plays the game.

I think he'll be a real safe pick for someone in the 2nd or 3rd round. Worst case scenario he'll be a bottom 6 speedy center who kills penalties and does all the little things right 5 on 5. His biggest knock right now is size but that won't be a problem, he has the height and the weight/muscle will come with time, nobody questions his dedication/work ethic.
