C Brett Budgell - Charlottetown Islanders, QMJHL (2019 Draft)

Off to a very good start with the Islanders after struggling to get ice time with Chicago in the USHL. 2g 2a in Chicago in his first 14 games getting limited playing time, and now has 4g and 2a in his first 4 games in Charlottetown. 1st round Q talent taken 25th due to NCAA possibility.

Big kid, very good offensive instincts and IQ, and plays good on both sides of the puck. Had the same numbers as Ryan Suzuki as linemates last season.

As with many 16 year olds, skating needs to be worked on.

Looks similar, in play style, to former Islander Filip Chlapik.

As of right now I think he would be considered a 2nd round talent.

He and Gentile have developed very good chemistry very quickly.

He was a 2nd prior to the start of the season and has struggled all season. Late 2nd would be a stretch atm, though all it takes is a good 2nd half to bring him back to the early/mid 2nd discussion.

They had Newhook and Budgell on their team back in Peewee AAA, they still never even made it to Atlantics. Lost to TriPen, they had Dawson Mercer and Petten.
