Like his game a fair bit. Isn't super tall obviously but thick frame and tough to push around. Really good shot and has a shoot first mentality. Not a elite skater but above average, will need to see more of him but playmaking needs a little work but sees plays developing which is good. Little Brendan Gallagher in his game, Victoria doesn't have much so he's definitely going to have to be a play driver.

Was talking about how good Cootes was when I saw him play this year, and was reminded about how impressed I was with Schuurman’s motor and skating. Glad to see he’s headed to the states. He will probably do really well at Colorado College
