No thread on this guy that I can see. Late bloomer?

He's 21.5 yrs old in his 2nd full year in the AHL and has surged ahead to lead the Barracuda in scoring (2 guys below have less GP)

31 Pts in 36 GP so far isn't mindblowing but him leading the team is interesting. Also he's got 26 pts in his last 23 GP.

I think he is definitely someone the Sharks might look to call up if injuries happen. His offence and skating have taken steps forward this season. He's a defensively responsible bottom line player potentially at the NHL level. A big bodied shut down type kind of guy. He'll get a chance at the bigs somewhere I would think.

I thought a team would have drafted him a few years ago when he was with Seattle. He is slowly getting better and better and will soon be called up to San Jose for some games id imagine. He was a massive reason for Seattle winning the WHL championship a couple years ago.

Oh and fun fact, his cousin is Nik Ehlers

Likewise, whenever I saw him play I saw a very good player who might've had below-average skating ability. I also suggest that teams should take a flyer on him in the 7th round, could do a lot worse and none of them ever gave him a shot. Glad to see that he's doing well, but anybody who watched him play knows he should've been drafted.

The CBA is being gamed by smart teams where CHL players who they think will be ready quickly get grabbed in the early rounds or not at all while Prospects with longer periods of control(NCAA, European) are getting drafted in greater numbers.

True might not be much more than a replacement level player, but getting one for nothing is still good work.

Guy sounds like a mythical paladin.

Sounds like a great guy to have especially as a free asset though! Can do worse than having guys tear it up in the minors. Even if that's all he ever ends up being.

Called up to SJ a little bit ago and has done well as 4th line center from what I hear. Some fans say that he has cemented himself to stick around now for the year...

7gp. 0g. 4a. 4pts. +3. 8sog. 11hits. while averaging around 10 mins a game

He slowly and steadily improved each year in junior... and now it looks like he slowly and steadily has improved each year playing pro hockey.
