Because we should never be able to ice a full lineup…

Ffs he was doing so well on the top line as well

Tbh I wouldn’t be against trying WN with M&M till he’s back

That's cause he doesn't play like a sniper trying to get open. He's always playing that heavy forecheck game like he's David Kampf, but with a 5'9" frame and lack of wheels. Guy needs a lot of development time.
I am more worried that he might not figure it out. He is still young, but if he has played this way his whole life it might be a tough adjustment.

There's a thread on Page 2, right now, that asks what could prove to be a very important question....

When do you think Round 1 will start?

Knowing the league's "love" for the Leafs, it'll probably be May 2nd, not the 4th. Those couple of extra days could prove very beneficial, so I hope the schedule-makers do us a favor and start us as late as possible.

Also, will this impact Bunting's Calder campaign at all? Not something I care about but I know is of interest in Leafs nation.

One other thing... I suppose they could move Kerfoot, Engvall, Kase, or Mikheyev up to Bunting's spot. The options really are plentiful. Only 3 games to figure it out.

Just call up Robertson for the last 3 games of the season and see what he can do on that line. If it works roll with that. Don't need all this sky is falling bullshit already people. Breath. Spoiler if we were to ever actually make a run in the playoffs players will get injured and miss games as well. Shit happens.

he walked off under his own power so how bad can it be?
Hyman played 3+ games in the playoffs on a torn ACL. No way to know severity because he happened to skate off under his own power. The Hyman story will always fascinate me. The guy didn't even know he tore it? He was able to play 3+ playoff games on a torn ACL? How did our medical staff allow this to happen? I hope they do better with Bunting.

Please don’t be a “high ankle sprain”, that’s potentially nagging and longish term.

Kase with JT
Mik with marner and mathews

I didn't even think of Mik. I loved his last game. Not sure playing with those two will improve his production, his legs seem to produce most of his offence.

If they bumped Nylander up to the M&M unit I would like to see Mik and The Giraffe with JT. I think their speed and forechecking would benefit JT a lot and possible help cover his lack of speed.

Bad enough we already know he will “miss some time”.

That means literally nothing, that could be a day, a week, a month, his entire career or anything in between.

he walked off on his power so it's probably not career ending.

All I'm saying is "some time" can mean A LOT of things

Never mind the worry, boys...We've always liked our agitators looking a bit off.

For giggles (and I don't mean Spezza) we should roll out an El Guapo line of Bunting-Simmonds-Clifford line against Kucherov's to start the season.

I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen right before playoffs, right on cue. Damn it.

I just hope he doesn’t rush back for the playoffs and play at 50% which would end up sinking his line, much like Hyman last year.

People melting over Bunting lol. Call up Robertson and play him top line. See what happens.

One is not like the other. Bunting brings something that team already lacking and Nick doesn't provide that. That grit and a bit of tenacity

Hoping for a quick recovery. This stuff happens to every team going into playoffs. That's you need depth

Maybe Kase slots in, although, I rather Kase just call it a quit
