OT: Buffalonians, What MLB Team Do You Root For?

Other, Orioles. Red Wings thing, plus I've been to a few games while on vacation in Maryland. Tbh I think Baltimore and Minnesota are far more worthy of being a main poll option than Cleveland or Pittsburgh, as I expect that most allegiances in this particular area are formed through IL affiliation.

Red Sox. My Dad loved them growing up, passed on to me. I also love the Indians started following all h guys from the Bisons that won the IL championship (Peralta, Sizemore, V-Mart) and stuck with them.

Braves when I was little, for same reasons, they were always on TV

Now, I just focus on Sabremetrics and the analytical approach to the game (it's autocorrected to sabre, lol)

Ditto on the Orioles. (We now live in Bodymore, so that's an added bonus). Like the Parra trade.

Agree that MIN/BAL would probably beat CLE or PIT in the poll due to the long-term Rochester affiliations.

I play fantasy baseball, which has made it difficult to solidify a bond to a team.

I liked the Braves when they were good because they were my little league team, I tried to like the Yankees because my Grandpa was a big fan, but that failed miserably.

This year I decided to follow the Cubs because they seem to have the disappointing history that I appreciate in a team and they are on the upswing. I like the Blue Jays because they're just across the lake and they have a farm team in Buffalo.

It is fun from a numbers POV but I just can't manufacture that pull.

Yanks, but I'm not an avid fan by any means. I probably only catch a dozen or so games a season.

Lived 20 miles or so outside of Baltimore for a long time now. I consider myself an Orioles fan, though not as fanatic about it as say the Sabres or Bills. Going to a game tonight as a matter of fact.

Grew up a Braves fan because of TBS. I don't really follow MLB anymore other than at a very high level. I enjoy the game of baseball, but not MLB if that makes sense.

I'm kind of in this camp.

That said, I lived in Milwaukee for 2 years and attended a few Brewers games.....I do have a soft spot for the Brew Crew. I'd root for them over anyone else.

Orioles, love camden yards and loved Palmeiro. Catch a few twins games living in the twin cities and work gives out tickets. Cousin plays in the cards system. But its hard to watch a full game.

Growing up and through law school it was the Indians. but moving to the DC area and then living across the street from the stadium I've become a Nats fan....who roots for the Indians on the side.

Not a huge baseball guy but Orioles/Reds. Went to high school in Baltimore and all my friends are O's fans. Went to college in Cincy and started following the Reds due to friends there.

The reason Cleveland and Pittsburgh are listed is that they have been the parent club of the Buffalo Bisons for alot of years.
Cleveland Indians (1983–1984, 1987, 1995–2008) - Pittsburgh Pirates (1979–1982, 1988–1994).

And the orginial poster did ask for opinions of people from Buffalo and not Rochester so thats why Baltimore/Minnesota weren't included as seperate entries.

Probably should have said Western New Yorkers and thus included Baltimore and Minnesota in the poll as well because of the connection those two teams had/have with the Rochester Red Wings. Baltimore being Rochesters parent club for alot of years and Minnesota being Rochesters parent club now.

I myself is a huge Yankees fan - grew up as one due to family. Became a Pirates fan and then a Indians fan due to them being the Buffalo Bisons parent club at one time.
Still a fan of both teams - Pittsburgh is my National League team and Cleveland is my backup American League team when the Yankees suck - LOL!

Unfortunately not a Bisons fan now because of them being with the Blue Jays. Sorry can't root for a team thats partnered up with a team from Toronto.

Indians are my AL team. Pirates are my NL team. But I like a lot of other teams as well - Cardinals, Red Sox, Reds, Orioles, Giants.

Interested in the Blue Jays as well because of the current affiliation. Indians and Pirates are from the past affiliations and geography.
