Seravalli: Buffalo may not have a choice but to trade Peterka

That too, and I forgot to mention you can bake them, or make potato bread

Buffalo's struggles for the past few seasons are an enigma. They have so many quality prospects and good players already there but unable to break through. It comes down to goals against. I'm not sure if it's their goaltending, maybe coaching, maybe the blueline is still too young and inexperienced.

in 22/23 when thry just misded with 90+ pts. Bith GF and GA were high, PP yoo quartile in league. The had an 8 g loding stretch where y if 6 D were out with injury of 3+ out game

23/24 TheY worked on Defense GS against went down, do dud GF. PL dropped to bottom quartile. They had same/ better adv team stats as Tampa except for PP and PK. This year they had a similar injury bug with 5 of 6 out. Some played hurt rest if year.

25,/26. The had nearly top 5v5 and 2st period scoring. PP still bottom quartile
75% of regulation loses they were ahead, tied, ir down 1 jn 3rd period. You take 10 of them to OT and win 5 of those, that's 15 pts and puts them in WC chase. They went 0-5-3 I n games where they had 2×g lead at any time. They also near top in leafue in worse record with anytime lead.
But once they cut their goals against, they should join the teams in the playoffs. It will happen eventually. As a Sens fan, I saw my team do this very thing; goals against down dramatically, made the playoffs.
They improve PP
Thry improve on PK
And they need to improve D by a little

Some want to blame the goalie but I think it more on team D and small adjustments.

They need surgery, not a small procedure in a Doctor’s office.

No way they win that trade. Peterka is awesome. Avoid reading him unless it is an immediate upgrade in a hockey trade.

It is the goalie though, they haven't had a legitimate goalie since Miller left.

And before you or anyone else brings up Ullmark, Ullmark didn't become Ullmark until he left Buffalo

Ullmark was ullmark in buffalo-he could not stay healthy

Hus last 2 yrs in buffalo

54g around 2.65 gaa and .916 so
He goes to Boston behind a better team Defense

His Ottawa stats were slightly worse than buffalo but still within natural variation of at 2.70 and 0.910

Goalie stats correlate heavily to team defense.

Frank is the human manifestation of click bait. Everything he says seems meant to drive traffic without him having to walk anything back.
When you actually go back and listen to the things he says, that doesn't seem to be true. What he has had to do is correct the social media posts that incorrectly attempt to summarize what he says. His actual original statements about Dahlin and Peterka don't line up in the slightest with what has been reported.

It's simplistic and unlikely but I think the Bruins may jump into this at Sturm's request.

Buffalo is not looking for picks/ prospects. Trading him within division will cost more. Boston doesn't have things Sabres want.

If Buffalo traded Power e for a 2RD and a top 6 winger then they might trade peterka for futures

I said it was unlikely...........................................................................................................................

I just have to know how did we get here?

How did the conversation turn to potatoes?
Because it's a good conversation and any good conversation should include something about potatoes.

Seriously though I think there was a post about value - as there always is in trade threads - and someone made some crack about trading a guy for a bag of potatoes or something. I was like "I'll take a bag of potatoes!"
