Nowhere
Was just watching NHL Network and Elliotte Friedman came on and mentioned that Scott Arniel is being interviewed by Buffalo, among many others, for their Head Coach position.

Interesting to think seeing NYR just hired his buddy, Keith McCambridge, as the Pack's Head Coach.

Thoughts?

There were a few rumors that it may have already occurred. Speculated that its likely down to Housley, Tocchet or Rierden fwiw.

I think it's Housley's to lose. His team just got eliminated.

That said, I hope BUF hires him.

Rangers need a change behind their bench.

No doubt we'll be seeing a dynastic Buffalo Sabres in a few years should he get the job.

That said, I wouldn't be sorry to see him gone.

Buffalo brass if you are reading this Scott Arneil is the best coach in the world and you should definitely hire him.

I will pay for his air fare and drive him to the airport myself. Who is the former NHLer who always tweets about horrible Scott Arniel is ? Why does Mike Commodore come to mind ?

Its hard to evaluate these things. But the thing with Arniel IMO is, he just don't seem to be the give good speech and be a great leader type -- at all. Right? Then why do he have a job in the NHL?

I think we have done a lot of really good things as a team since AV took over. We had a really bold strategy with the man-man defense -- which Vancouver didn't apply, but much more is in line with how Chicago plays. But we executed it and got very good results, albeit it has been a rocky ride at times. Even so, I think our strategy aimed really high and to a large extent gave us an improves opportunity to win. Think we had an edge over most teams we faced, the reason we haven't won has been others than not trying to do the right things in terms of X and Os.

How much of that is Arniel behind? I know many dislikes him as a coach, but if you look at like Brassard who had a huge issue with Arniel in CBJ -- it was clear that it was communication and leader related issues.

Is Arniel really good in terms of strategies? If so he is a good asset to hang on to. In a perfect world, I would like to see Ruff come in and be more responsible in the hands on communication to the players. Arniel taking a responsibility on a strategy level. AV keeping things thight and making sure all parts heads in the same direction, setting workload levels and taking the big decisions. And Beuke more or less implementing the defensive directives he gets from others, a long with working with the Ds individually.
