Maybe. That $1.5M hit though is rich for what he brings.

He can be a decent enough 4th liner with speed and grit......but there were some games this year that holy cow he looked awful. Maybe it's injury related.

Yeah...$1.5M cap hit probably keeps most teams away. Not that he isn't capable of being a competent enough 12th/13th Forward who plays with some grit and energy...but that's not cheap for that sort of depth filler.

There are some teams out there who are in a position to just need bodies to fill out a roster with NHL caliber players though, and some of them have plenty of cap space to burn. So a claim wouldn't surprise me either.

Useful if inconsistent player. Some skill to go with the snarl. Wonder why it didn’t work out in Buffalo?

He was pretty good in 4th line role with the Caps, but I remember he would take some stupid penalties that took away from the positive stuff he did.

He was solid with the Avs. Took some dumb penalties once in a while but the Avs were able to tone that part of his game down.

I wouldn't mind him back on the Avs but his cap hit is a bit high. Wish we could dump Wood at 2.5m and bring in NAK for 1.5.

Wouldn’t mind Wood on the Jets.

Dude was a nice depth piece on that 19-20 Flyers' team but took a lot of dumb penalties while he was here. Not sure if it's been more of the same since Philly lost him on waivers, but could see him getting a shot at a fourth line role somewhere.

Wouldn't mind bringing him back for our 4th line, and hopefully freeing up one of our current forwards for a move, given our current front office seems to think they need to replace every grinder with two more before making any sort of trade.
