Coyotes contact told me they hope to have two more first draft choices tonight in addition to OEL trade.

Nothing further. No idea if Rangers are involved. Coyote management has been sequestered since 5:30 this morning.

Stay tuned.

Drury can make up for it by trading for Dvorak for 15 and Jones plz thanks

Kuemper and who else do they have?

I think it's bad value and disappointing for us. There's little avoiding that; we just didn't get good return on our dollar.

Blais, however, is going to be an immediate favorite and contributes to a much better, tougher bottom six that can actually play. Very happy we got Blais. Just not happy this was how we got him.

Goodrow and Blias are the types of players we can use for sure, just not sure we should be paying a 50% tax for them.

I think he has vision for roster balance.

It's quite possible that he is saying to himself, "We have all this top-end young talent. This is our future, but we're not going to get there with them on the third and fourth lines. These are prospects who are do or don't type talents. We're gonna put them in those roles and surround them with talent who bring different elements to different roles."

And the truth is, he isn't wrong. The devil is in the details of getting there.

Acquiring someone like Blais isn't a bad move. Having him as the main piece for a 26 year old top 6 winger who is a RFA is questionable though.
First of all, for having no reason to do it, you do a great job of PR for the Rangers at time. Maybe in life you are just a glass half full kinda guy, I like to find a silver lining in a grey cloud. I also think it’s important to call a spade a spade. We can dance around it all we want, but this isn’t a good trade.

At the least, it should have been a 1st for Buch and from a team who is going for it. So we’re talking a second half of the round team most likely. It’s concerning that Drury couldn’t even get a first.

I don’t hate Sammy Blais at all, but now I’m going to have a bad taste in my mouth for a while. I understand why a guy like him, and having a position of strength, but their is a huge lack of execution here. I mean, I really was giving Drury credit here figuring he was working on something of a significant deal.

Not to be hyperbolic, but just bending over for the things he wants and paying $3.6 a year for Barclay, and just leaving soooo much on the table to get another Cup guy on the roster who can bang, I’d say this is a fair time to be pretty concerned as a Rangers fan.

In limited viewings, imagine if Howden were ok. Try to get your head around that. Really high-octane player, busts his ass all over the ice, hits everything, you'll hear Sam say his name nine times a shift. Not a great skater but I don't know where the comments that he skates worse than Lemieux/Howden are coming from.

Now keep in mind, I said if Howden were OK, not if Howden were good! Limited offense, doesn't tilt the ice in either direction.

Not big but I almost think that's a good thing at this point. Tampa did extremely well with small grinders. Maybe there's upside there but I doubt it.

I like the player, but I thought Buchnevich had more value.
Lemieux is quite fast, Blais is slow as molasses. If you want to LOL watch his first playoff goal that's titled "breakaway" lmao, looks like an Alumni game 80 year old skating

Gut reaction this sucks. And we gave up a 2nd jesus. But if we manage to make the playoffs we should be a PIA I guess.

Edit: Got a 2nd, it's Friday ;)

If we gave up a 2nd on top of Buch for Blais, the entire Northeast region would be in an alcohol shortage for the foreseeable future after the bender I'd go on.
