Assuming he is depth for Providence, who could lose DiPietro, Bussi or even both (granted that’s less likely — they both are UFA’s though).

I would think so. He seemed to have a stronger year. But he also might have the most competition for his services. I'd be a bit surprised if teams are looking at Bussi as a back-up option next year, while I wouldn't be shocked if a few teams are keeping tabs on Dipietro coming off his strong year.

Agreed, add that it can also take 5 years of development after being drafted to make the NHL, makes drafting another goalie a must.

I’d assume they prioritize DiPietro, bring in an AHL/ECHL type, and draft a goaltender. I’d give DiPietro a one-way to entice him and have him legitimately compete with Korpisalo for backup.

Assuming they don’t deal Korpisalo altogether, which seems unlikely given the contract.

They needed new blood in the org, someone who might develop into a future NHL goalie. I guess maybe DiPietro still has a shot as a backup. Add in an 18 year old into the pipeline, and maybe you are starting to rebuild a system that went from looking deep and bright a couple years back into a bit of a wasteland
