Everyone's hating on Trouba but was absolutely celebrating when we traded for him. Yeah, we're not the professionals here but the trade at the time looked good. And hell Trouba isn't even that bad. People make it seem like he's Marc Staal or something. He's just overpaid, but once again everyone here thought he was a top pairing stud defenseman. f***, there were people praying for Trouba here for YEARS even before the trade.

A bad pk is probably worse than a bad pp but the pp is beyond bad like Boston could have had two pk goals tonight

I agree and would add that it is stagnant. Nobody moves at all. Its just slowly move the puck around the perimeter.

So frustrating.

It's a big mystery to me, how that is possible. It can't be that both the personnel and coaching sucked for like 7 out of the past 10 years*

*can't find proper team season stats atm, but I think that may be accurate.

He’s probably sitting at home rubbing his hands together saying “these guys are gonna regret trading me”

Cause he seems like the petty type

Is there a way to get a poster drafted in the expansion draft? Your name and everything.

This is a tough loss.

And a disappointing loss.

And a frustrating loss.

But I don't come away feeling like its a bad loss either.

I don't mean the outcome, I mean the way we lost.

Having said that, I continue to be frustrated by too many of the vets.

I'm also with @Kovalev27 in the sense that Kakko looks like a guy who is nearing the brink of being dangerous. You can clearly see it.

all these 1 goal losses making people think we're so close to being good. Its just a mirage. We're abysmal and getting worse by the day.

Kakko was probably the best Ranger on the ice tonight. That’s a plus. Lafreniere too is right there.

Shesty looked good, that goal was leaky but a bad bounce more than anything.

Ritchie head shotting Shesty with no call and nobody does anything about it. Shades of Eakin on Lundqvist (though that one was much worse for a myriad of reasons).

PP is absolute shit. I know Panarin was out but the PP lost them the game. No shots on 4 of them. Not being able to get possession of the puck for the entire final minute of the game when you’re 6 on 4 is unforgivable. 3rd time shutout in this very short season is extremely discouraging.

Mika looked like dog shit again. Also thought he looked like he was digging it too.

Not sure what Frederic was chirping at Lemieux about, Lemmy fed him his lunch.

Trouba was looking like a star in Winnipeg and we traded a 1st and Neal Pionk who, according to people here and the stats nerds was the worst d-man in the NHL under Quinn. Then Pionk looks like real good player in Winnipeg and Trouba looks like a total scrub under DQ. Kakko was awful last season but people chalked it up to maybe he was overhyped , maybe he's actually just not that good. Then we get a real no-doubter in Laf and he's on pace for the worst season a 1OA has ever had. All under the same coach. I mean i'm no mathematician but come the f*** on. Its pretty obvious what the problem is here.

Guy makes $8M thanks to Gorton and all you hear all game is “Trouba...shoots wide!”
I can not give Trouba too much grief for tonight, I thought he played relatively well in a I've already accepted what he is going to be sort of way.

Tonight

First off it's true the Bruins are good. Secondly Panarin not playing hurts the Rangers more than we want to admit. Thirdly I was kind of happy to see the Rangers stick up for themselves without a Glass, or McQuaid or whatever. They need to learn do so that and not stand around waiting for that type of player to do it for them. Fourthly or however many drinks I've had, which may be more like eightly, their defensive play has been good, the goalie did not need to make like 5 great saves to just keep them in the game. So the PP stank, the 2nd period stank, and I guess at least me, I did not expect them to beat the Bruins. When they lose to the Devils and Buffalo it disappoints me more so.

The guy at the top of the Umbrella is not the problem. If the wingers aren't shooting threats than the slot never open for a pass and down low plays are non existant. The PP is stuck on the outside. No same passes will ever get through. The only thing they have is 40 ft wrister with a prayer attached to it. Until they commit to either Laf or Kaako as the triggerman than the PP lives and dies on Zibanajed finding his mojo again. If he can't put his 1ter on the net than Kreider doesn't get tips (although he hasn't done much in this facet either). Once ziba is a threat teams start cheating and opening up other lanes. Until than, a super tight diamond and teams will just dare you to shoot.

Exactly, which makes me think they should start running another scheme

Maybe I should put a hockey net way over on the side of my yard and let Trouba shoot for it to knock some of them off.
