Nobody minus one, that is.

Whats better - 8 points vs tobias rieder and sekera or 5 points vs kopitar and josi? You have no ground to stand on if you think the former is more impressive. And thats before factoring in toews far superior possession.

BAM! Statement confirmed.

Actually bergeron only had 7 points and was +4 despite playing such vastly weaker competition and playing with crosby. Pathetic and conclusive.

Bergeron 7 pts +4 vs rieder/sekera types.
Toews 5 pts +6 vs kopitar/josi types.

Not. Even. Close. Toews in a landslide.

Bruins homers love talking up qoc when talking bergeron in nhl then ignore it when he gets soft matchups and better linemates in tournies like this. But hey at least he got on the ice this time unlike 2010 when he watched toews win the gold from the bench.

^ You do realize that by arguing for Toews over Bergeron in this fashion for a 6-game tournament, you're also arguing against him for years of play in the NHL right?

You realize that the reason Bergeron wasn't playing in the 2010 Olympics that often was because he tore his groin in the first game of the tournament....right? You knew that....right? Also...I'd rather have Bergeron on my team over Toews. He's a better player.

Price was... just okay. Otherwise, I concur with the thread title.

From the "national hockey league" section:

Toews ranks well there too. Bergeron? Better still.

ah, stats biased toward small samples including last season, an aberrational down year for toews after years of consecutive deep cup runs while bergeron spent his offseasons golfing after missing the playoffs. On a career basis, toews stats are better.

Glad you finally agree with the obvious reality that 5 points and +6 is better than 7 points +4 given the dramatic difference in the lines qoc.

On the contrary, its bruins homers that talk up qoc normally yet ignore it here where the chasm between the two lines is dramatic. On the other hand, in the nhl over his career toews has also faced some of the highest qoc in the league so no such difference exists.

Despite facing similar qoc in the nhl the career stats are laughable. Stuff like 0.87ppg in playoffs vs 0.69 for bergeron (assuming he even makes it back to the playoffs). Or toews having 13 more career goals in 200 fewer games lol. They both drive possession and face tough qoc. One guy produces a LOT more. And was chosen by babcock to take the toughest matchups for canada while bergeron wussed out.

No one is saying Toews is bad, you seem to be taking this way too personal. Can't we just agree that Toews, Crosby and Bergeron are all elite players and had a great tournament?

Crosby is clearly on a higher level though, no denying that.

Hilarious to see people run to this random ranking and then to see the rankings roundly criticized as a joke after a few more were published. Keep grasping for straws. Meanwhile toews will still have 13 more goals in 200 fewer games, a much higher playoff ppg, a better wcoh performance with the highest qoc, and oh yeah the defining clinching performance in the 2013 stanley cup final.

So it's all about points until Bergeron outscores him in a tournament?

I seem to recall Bergeron had a great finals in 2013 until the little matter of broken ribs, torn cartilage, and a separated shoulder, starting in game 4. Think that makes for a fair comparison? Yet Bergeron returned to the game after his cartilage was torn and scored a goal. Ask Toews how he fared on faceoffs in I believe game 3. I think Bergeron was over 70 percent.

Also hilarious that you think Bergeron "wussed out." Yes, I'm sure he and his three Selke trophies were cowering behind Babcock, begging him not to throw him out there against the big scary guys who score goals.

I'm done. You like Toews, I prefer Bergeron. Neither of us will change our minds.

Looks like the Toews Error is at it again with the whole insecurity thing about other centers being better than the one that he hyperventilates about.

Toews had a good tournament too and definitely deserves to be mentioned alongside those 4. Why is it about BergeronVSToews again? They are both good. I don't care if this one or that one is slighlty better.

Because for that guy, Toews is a God, therefore anything that isn't outright praise to Toews, it's blasphemy. Laughable if you ask me, but somehow mildly entertaining.
