Bruins All-Time All-Nasty team

Off the cuff, in my strong opinion Nevin Markwart needs to be ditched in favor of Al Secord or Stan Jonathan. Nevin was a feisty little guy, but not exactly one to put fear in the hearts of others. Big Al was one of best one punch fighters Bruins ever had and boy could he put the puck in the net. Stan Jonathan was, well ask Pierre Bouchard what Stan Jonathan was!
I'm going spend some time thinking about a replacement for K Crowder. Loved the good old UNH boy, but think there were nastier guys.

39 games in a single season as a Bruin. Crap ton of penalty minutes and goonery, but not all-time.

bourque and orr were tough but wouldnt call them nasty. macquaid fights like he wants to hurt people and chara hurts them even when he isnt trying.
up front definitely dress a goon over markwart. the kid hit alot but wouldnt hold a candle against marchand for pure nasty value. not sure if fighting is your only definition of nasty. if you are including pest value gor linsman than marchand has to be on the team. if not marchand i favor thornton over secord or wensink
and finally nilan easily over crowder at rw. nilan enjoyed being nasty

Wensink needs to be on there. Guy was an absolute lunatic... Also, Colton Orr played for the Bruins briefly.
Wish the Bruins gave McGrattan a shot, he was with Providence for a while.

All fair points. I did say in the OP that I started with PIM/game, which created some obvious omissions.

marty mcsorely was like nilan... only here for a cup of tea but his gutless attack has to warrant mention
we had some tough boys here on defense but none lasted long time. guys like brian curran, glen featherstone, john blum, bruce shoebottom could all fight but to me none were special
similar upfront guys like darrin kimble and jeff odgers were here to fight... but they werent special
rick tocchet might deserve some consideration but we got him when he was old and most nights he wasnt his regular younger nasty self

Cashman might have been meaner/crazier than any guy on your list. Also not sure how you leave McQuaid off.
The difference between guys like Neely, Lucic, (even McQ) and some of the 70's guys in comparison to a guy like Thornton is that they tried to hurt the other guy. Thornton did it because that was his job.

Was going to mention Ken Belanger. If he had sufficient stamina, he would have been a top contender. Kyle McLaren had his moments; tendency to turtle at times diminished his reputation.
An oldie, but a goodie:
Jack Bionda deserves to be there at LD. Only played a few seasons in the 60s for the Bs, but he was one mean hombre. Then again, not many here ever saw him play. Also pretty good at LAX.
