Bruins 2025 IIHF Tournament Discussion- USA CHAMPS!

No disrespect meant to Denmark but it goes to show how having a team of full of players who know how to defend the bigger ice vs. a team who aren't used to creating offense on the bigger ice can be an advantage in a single game elimination tournament.

No matter, Canada with that line up should never be losing to Denmark. This loss is historic

It is. Kudos to the Danes this is their biggest hockey win ever internationally.

I think it also shows the gap between high level/pro level hockey players isn't as great as we think sometimes. European pro leagues are full of high end hockey talent. Sometimes the difference in those players making or not making it in North America is how they fit the North American/NHL style of game. Look at a guy like Roman Cervenka who is and has been a superstar in the KHL/Swiss League/Czech League/Internationally but couldn't hold onto a full-time NHL job. In Calgary his coaches felt he was a liability defensively.

Canada was leading the tournament in goals scored, not having any trouble creating offense.

As usual, the longer a team lets the underdog stay in the game, the short the gap between the two teams gets.

They certainly struggled in that last game. Spend way too much time handling the puck on the outside looking for the perfect play and trying to force the cross-crease play for tap-ins instead of relying on instincts and taking that puck to the net. Even Crosby and MacKinnon were guilty of this.

Sounds like the Bruins the past 2 seasons.

Congratulations Denmark!!!!

Swayman competing against Daccord, Demko, Stolarz, Gibson, Knight and Woll
for #3G on '26 USAOHT. If Demko gets healthy, he will move past Swayman for certain
and based on thus year Swayman is behind Stolarz. Looks like close to a toss up
with Daccord.

Stolarz is probably in the lead for No. 3 spot. He had a really solid season. For goalies with 30+ starts, only Hellebuyck had more quality starts than Stolarz. Not sure why Demko moving past Swayman is some sort of certainty though, even if he figures out his injury issues. What has he ever won?

U.S. looks amazing

They are all over basically the Sweden Olympic team
