I think it is fair to say, as I said at the time that Leaf nation got entirely too worked up over the fate of couple borderline NHL talents like it was going to make some kind of impact on our NHL team. Losing Brooks/Amadio hurt our AHL team more then anything.

Ya no kidding if anyone here thought they would make a major impact are sniffing glue

I don't think I said people can't have their own favourite players? I don't care if Brooks was your favourite player in the organization...for whatever reason. That doesn't change the fact that he is a marginal player and was never going to be a big difference maker for our team...despite the talk around these parts.

Did someone suggest that Brooks was a potential difference maker?

I said people were bitching and moaning about him being exposed like he was a difference maker. The level of talk over him leaving was ridiculous. I am not sure if you are trying to start playing some dumb game of semantics here or something? My opinion is pretty straight forward. You don't have to agree with it but it isn't hard to figure it out.

Remember that it was never really about loving Brooks, more about hating Dubas.

Now they're "bitching and moaning" because they're questioning one minor roster decision. I'm neutral on this thing as I mostly agree about the player being marginal but who is the whiner here again?

Like I said you don't have to agree with my point. I think the amount of talk and level it got to was frankly really f***ing dumb. You can either agree with that or don't. I will be fine.

I didn’t like keeping the plug who just joined the organization over a guy you drafted and developed. I also thought Brooks showed something late last year that was somewhat intriguing, nobody was over stating his role. I also thought Brooks was more versatile than Amadio. Sue me.

And whining about whining is really whiny, just saying.

This was it for me. It was always the wrong decision but not a huge mistake in the grand scheme.

I missed the part where the person you replied to said you are not "permitted" to do that.

Quite the persecution complex you have there.

It took very little, stating that fans are allowed to have their own personal opinions on players' worth, to bring out some nasty rhetoric.

Who ever said you aren't allowed? I'm pointing out that of course, you are allowed.

All OP did was disagre with you. Are they not allowed?

not sure why anyone would call Amadio a plug and not Brooks, given that Amadio was much more productive in the AHL, and a higher draft pick.

and calling Brooks more "versatile" is super weird, given that he's clearly more one-dimensional than Amadio.

As I said in a general sense at the time, and other times, I like rooting for a collection of players (that include the lesser players) who have been part of the organization for the long term. I don't like the mercenary nature of modern pro sports where there's a haul of new bodies every summer due to practicalities like the salary cap and free agency. I still hate that Connor Brown, Kasperi Kapanen, Andreas Johnsson, Zach Hyman, Nazim Kadri, perhaps some others are no longer part of this team.
