Yes. I was just surmising about what would have happened had the Leaf claim been successful in this case in relation to Brooks and his prospective NHL status.

That's right, for the Leafs to send him directly down to the Marlies they have to be the only claim. If other teams make a claim but the Leafs are highest priority, then it's just like a normal claim process and the Leafs would add him to the roster and put him back on waivers to send him down.

For Brooks fans its not TOTALLY over yet. Vegas obviously needs warm bodies. When they are back to full strength, Brooks is probably going to go back up on the wire. Now, if we claim him then, we'll have to keep him up or put him BACK on the wire and hope nobody else claims him back. Or we can make a deal with LV like we did for Clifford. And round and round she goes....
One things for sure...Brooksie is sure racking up the frequent flyer miles. Probably got enough now to take a sweet vacay in the tropics. Does Fiji have a team yet?

If a player is placed on waivers prior to Nov. 1, the waiver order is determined by the reverse standings order from the previous season. This means the team in last place gets the first chance to place a claim on a player.
If the player is placed on waivers after Nov. 1, then the claim order goes by the current season’s standings.
