Last year the Czechs came back from 2-5 down to beat Finland 8-5. Let’s hope for a similarly intriguing game with another losing experience for the Nordic team.

I cant see Sweden blowing the lead like that, its more of a Finland-thing.

Im not so familiar with the stats, it might have happened. I just remember senior quarterfinal in 2003 and never get over it.

That is true but it does happen both ways, the dynamic between Sweden and Finland is crazy. And often it seems in world championships Finland loses in Helsinki and Sweden loses in Stockholm..

But I'm rooting for Czechia because I like underdogs, and being a Caps fan I want Sikora to be awesome.

If you look at motivation... I think the Czechs will have a slight edge as they were not favorites to beat the USA. So they should be hungry to medal.

This is kind of my take too. The Bronze is an honor for us and we treat it like a gold game. Sweden wanted, rightfully, gold and may be a bit off to start. This is not an honor for them. It's a piss off.lol

I have this theory that beating a team twice in the same tournament is very hard. So I am picking the Czechs based on that and the fact that we really want the Bronze. Sucks we aren't in the final but playing for a third consecutive medal is great.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s to never underestimate the stupidity of Swedish junior coaching. Starting a bad goaltender in back to back games would take it to a new level though.

I think it will depend on the coaches ego.. How bad does he want to win this? Or is he more concerned he may look silly and open himself to even more second guessing if Gidlof comes in and is lights out.

The other reason I want this... we are 1-2 against the big boys. If we win this we will leave 2-2 with a loss to US and Sweden and a win against Canada and Sweden. If we leave 1-3 against the top guys I'd be disapointed. Feel like we should bat .500 with the big boys right now.

I'm sure I've mentioned this but our last 4 matches are Sweden, Canada, US and Sweden. Is it possible to give us a harder draw?lol
