Finland is too good to allow a chance to get back in the game. When it went to 4-3, I was mentally prepared to accept a loss based on another total collapse. A great effort by Kucherov to reestablish a 2-goal margin and make the hill too high to climb in the last few minutes. But then Finland almost scored several times in the last 2 minutes to bring it back to a 1-goal margin again.

Sorry about Belov. He had a miserable day in many ways. Znarok would not have survived a loss if it occurred. I hoped for the best for a recovery by Nichushkin, but this tournament was a setback for him if he wants to get back to Dallas. But the bright spot is so many young KHL guys who were unheralded who really shone throughout the WC. Gusev, Andronov, Khiselevich, Zub, Antipin, and on and on. There were about 14 KHL kids who showed what they could do. Still thinking what could have been yesterday, but hoping for better things next year.

****, I hoped we'd lose, and now we again see all this **** about successful tournament and Znaroks staying. **** Russian NT, I stop caring about it.

My post was that Znarok was gone for sure if they lost a 4-goal lead in the 3rd period. But even though they didn't lose, he should be gone anyway. He is making very bad coaching decisions, and the heart attacks that we all suffered today when the lead was narrowed to 4-3 are inexcusable. Znarok is doing a terrible job! They know they have a huge problem on defense, but it is not getting fixed!

I don't think they would've fired Znarok, the guy is acting as if he's untouchable. It's ridiculous - he needs to be fired now and on the spot. These are not the results the fans are expectin from Team Russia.

His contract is up after the Olympics, if we somehow fail there when there's no NHLers they won't have any excuse to keep him.

If we do win gold, he will likely stay

I just don't see a way we can win Gold with a defence like that and with a coach who can't properly discipline the team.

Those 3rd period meltdowns against Canada and Finland were scary! Without Kucherov's brilliant effort to score in the 3rd, everything looked as though a repeat of the debacle against Canada was in place. I'm still trying to calm down!

We still have a lot of good players. If Canada's shot in the third hits the post instead of going in we probably would have won the gold medal.

Yeah, Dadonov and Namestnikov both had really good chances to increase the score too. Ah well, let's hope for Gold next year :). We weren't far from no. 1 this year.
