Simple poll . If you were the GM of the Oilers who would you trade if you had to trade 1.

Brochard will be a point producing machine at his peek
Broberg will be a great skating 2 way defender

Not sure how you can really make this decision without knowing the potential returns.

Bouchard is further along in his development, but having a somewhat rough year. Broberg is largely an unknown at this point. Which player yields the best haul? I guess it depends a lot on what the other team is looking for.

I'm not trading Bouchard unless it's for a serious upgrade on d. It would certainly be premature to throw him away. I'd much rather we trade for a partner that would compliment him well.

Right now its Bouchard, and he has a great shot and scoring prowess. Broberg has good defense and untapped offense. I voted Broberg on pure potential. Something he has started to display.

I find it funny how for years we could never get a good offensive RHD and now it feels like that's all that is available to us. It pains me to say I'd trade Bouchard but Barrie can fill his roll for a few years and there is no shortage of potential replacements out there.

Our offence is driven through McDavid. We need defenders and I take a well rounded D like what Broberg is developing into over a mistake prone offensive D that has trouble sensing danger in his own end and when he does he’s a little too casual about addressing it.

Bouchard has been god awful this year and a good chunk of last year also.
Broberg has played well as of late and I think has a higher upside. Voted Broberg

Bouchard doesn't seem like he knows where he is half the time out there. Moments of brilliance. IDK what to make of it but I respect defensively minded defenseman a hell of a lot more than ones that bang a slapshot in once every 15 games...unless it's in the 3rd period to get even or go up one of course...

Same thing for Nurse I feel like someone needs to pull tape of all the times he's single handedly ended offensive momentum with his wrist shot...I don't feel like he probably responds to criticism well. Bouchard is probably coachable still but obviously this is a nothing point with us being strapped with/ by nurse.

I think broberg might have more upside if it wasn't for being injury prone..has bouch missed any games?

They're going to be our future top pairing. I'd keep both.
At this point I'll be happy with them as our future bottom pair. Both have ways to get there and require sheltering

If Broberg and Bouchard becomes our top pairing than what is Nurse and his 9.25M?
Nurse would still be a 20-23 per night Dman even if not 'too pairing'.

The poll asks "Who is the better defenseman"

The text asks "If you were the GM of the Oilers who would you trade if you had to trade 1"

Are you assuming we trade the better defenseman?

Nevertheless, I'd keep Broberg as Barrie and Bouchard are interchangeable atm.

Bouch had a good rookie year, and a sophomore slump to follow. So even if Broberg pops off this year as a rookie, you'd logically have to wait to see how he does next year before you could reasonably say who is actually better.
