Why would Montreal moved him??

Last year, I was told he was better than Simmonds. Not true. But he is still a good little player that teams would love to have.

Philly doesn't need him with Voracek and Simmer at RW, but with his contract, he is valuable.

Absolutely nothing of reason.

I don't think Gally is a top end winger, but he fits in perfectly in montreal and is on too much of a good deal for montreal to seriously consider moving him.

Gallagher, slump aside, is a better player than Simmonds, not close.

because every time a hab player is slumping, he must be traded...

Not on this planet he isn't. He's rare player in this league. His production is excellent, you add his size, contract and play. I'd pay heavily for Simmonds as an Oilers fan. Certainly more in trade than I'd consider for Gallagher.

Gallagher is amazing. He's going through a little slump, but it's not like he's not trying - he's always visible on the ice making something out of nothing. I wouldn't trade him unless it's an overpayment coming back the other way. With Radulov in top RW place, and Shaw/Byron, etc, we can maybe go fetch a great C or a top LHD with Gallagher in the deal. Again, I wouldn't do it unless it's an overpayment because Gallagher isn't someone you want to replace.

So, you don't want to be paid what Gallagher is worth, but MORE than he is worth?

Call Benning.

Gallagher is a special player on one of the best contracts.

The only deal I would do with Benning at this point would be _?_ + 1st 2017 or 2018, which should be an easy no from VAN. There's just nobody really that's needed from VAN.

What's the fat plus

Gally career ppg is 0.61 or 52 points over 82 games.
Eberle career ppg is 0.78 or 64 points over 82 games.

Gally brings better intangibles such as leadership and grittiness, but Eberle puts up more points and is simply the better offensive player, and puts up better numbers on a worst team. As players they are very close in value IMO, contracts makes Gallagher more attractive.
Since Gally has a sweet contract I would retain 2 million on Eberle so his cap is 4 million to MTL where Gallys would in a sense be 3.75+2 so 5.75.

Bring the Alberta boy back to his hometown!
- Eberle (@4) for Gallagher

Isn't Eberle from Alberta also...

Anyway, we don't need Eberle.

Saskatchewan. So close enough I guess
Im not his biggest fan but at 4 million every team would need him.

In reality doubt the Oilers are trying to move him. He is our most tenured player, wears an A, our best right shot player and best RW. But, I along with many fans have gotten fed up with him, he has become too comfortable and stopped doing things he used to do, could use a change of scenery for sure.

Our top RWs are Radulov and Gallagher. I see no reason for us to get softer.

I'd take Simmonds everyday and twice on Sundays over Gallagher.

That said, there's absolutely no reason the Habs should be trading one of their few legitimate top-six forwards for anything less than a clear upgrade at the position.
