Am I the only one here who doesn't really like Prust?

I mean, I got it he's a guy with leadership, he fights (CHaracter ya kno) but god he's awful with the puck. Each time it's near his stick the offensive play die and most of the time it's a turnover. No hands, no skills no creativity when it comes to offense and he's not that good of a defensive guy either. He's like a mix between Parros and Gallagher (without the scoring touch) IMO and it just doesn't work.

Plus lets face it, he became injury prone and always seems injured when he comes back.

the only problem I currently have with Prust is that he spends about 50% of his icetime on his ass. The guy can't seem to be able to stand up for more than a few seconds.

Overall though, I quite like having him on our team

He's actually a very useful player, with better than 4th line skills.

He's clearly not at 100% with his health and doesn't appear be playing up to his usual level.

He had that shoulder injury at the beginning of the year and probably chose not to have surgery. I think it was a mistake and it's showing.

Wonder what MT does when Galchenyuk comes back. We're certainly going to need Prust if we play Boston. The odd man out might be Bournival unfortunately.

Prust is the type of guy the room loves.
He's very much our Gorges up front.
Limited talent, but bleeds for the team.
He loses his focus sometimes and makes some really piss poor decisions
(that lead to self inflicted injuries.)

But we should be happy with his overall play. He really only screwed up big time once in game one.
He has made some smaller mistakes since but has been able to cover up for them
which is all you can ask.

The thing about hockey and particularly the PO's is if you've got a line like Prust/Plecky/Gallagher.
The Prust type player on the line always seems to be the one with the glorious opportunities.
He's also the player least likely to shine in that situation :shakehead

You can't forget all the positives prust has brought to this team since coming here. He started this new era of habs who earned some form of respectability.

The Rangers felt the same way about prust before he signed here and they miss him ever since (and havn't been able to replace him). His major benefit of holding people accountable through fighting and sticking up for teammates isn't all that useful in the playoffs, but he's still worth his contract and much more during the regular season.

I think Moen is a better playoff guy personally... especially in a shutdown role, but prust has earned his ice time with this club.

I like Prust a lot. He's too high in the lineup right now, but in a 3rd or 4th line role, he's a very valuable player for us.
He brings toughness with decent skill and hockey sense, and he works hard. Plus he seems like a great teammate, well liked in the room, a guy who brings the team together. His injury trouble has been his only downside since we got him.

Up 3-0, if he's still banged up in any way, I'd sit him for Moen/Galch if they were ready to come back... I'm sure there are some antics yet to come from TB that will put him at more injury risk, if he's already hurting again. Not a big deal either way, it's nice to have enough depth that the option is even there, anyway. Maybe he's not even hurting, though. Hard to tell. :dunno:

half of those are turnovers he created in the first place

He's definitely not playing as well as he did when we signed him. I think he needs a summer off to recuperate and he'll be back 100%. The way he plays takes a real toll on the body.
