Brandon Hagel hit on Barkov-1 game suspension

It's not a weak response, it's you literally not understanding the difference in force of a cross check vs a full body check.

Well thankfully none of your Red Wings are enduring this type of play then.
I understand the difference - been playing and following the game for decades.

What's your excuse?

It's playoff hockey - FLA of all teams have played on that 'dirty edge'...What comes around goes around

Hit his shoulder , this is an absolute clean hockey hit that the panthers routinely get away with.
Im not trying to be edgy or argumentative .. we all love Barkov, I just dont see how this is even 2 mins

shoulder to chest
elbow tucked in
I thought puck was close enough, Barkov swipes at it to negate interference

Huge demolishing hit .. you want to find an element of a major to attach the act to

Love Barkov, hope hes okay

Hagel absolutely has to oblige when asked

A fight doesn't do anything, it's gonna be straight up pain for Kuch or Hagel.

I have no idea why this was more than 2 minutes, much less why DOPS is reviewing it. It’s interference, sure, but nothing Hagel does in the hit itself looks dirty (elbow is tucked in, skates are on the ice), and I can see (from his angle) how he might’ve thought Barkov had/touched the puck.

I love these fantasies. Good idea: get suspended for intentionally injuring guys and get yourself injured when they punch back when you're the clear Cup favorite and will likely close out this series in 4-5 games if you just play your game.

Its not hard to replicate what Hagel did over a couple of games and claim "I didn't realize he didn't touch the pucks", get real.

Would you rather play Tampa who you’ve had some pretty good success against or Florida who are rabid dogs and play an extremely frustrating style? You have plenty of horses lmao

Well I'm focused on Ottawa, that job not done yet.

But ina general sense I'm confident in this team .

I trust Berube

your boy Stolarz has been fantastic all year

Tanev, Carlo and OEL have made this into a real defense.

Your boy Lorentz is clutch he had 8 goals 5 were game winners.

I'm confident in this team.

But even if I did have a horse in that race do you think I'd be cheering for a Barkov injury?

No I don't do that,that's bullshit.

I'm a fan of the game I want to see the best players in the world, if Barkov injured the quality of the product suffers.

The more I think about this and watch it, the more I am thinking that Barkov sold this. Team withholding injury status until after the hearing, and the fact the game was over. It could be gamemanship because losing Hagel is a big loss
The game was not over. The Panthers had a 1 goal lead with ~7 minutes left. No way they keep Barkov out if he could’ve gone, especially for the 6v5 at the end

This year this team is different in a lot of ways, but mostly in their preparation. Leafs are certainly not outgunned up front, the defense are a wash, and Stolarz is the better goalie. Leafs take it in 6 or 7

Bring on anyone tbh. It's about the Leafs not other teams. The last series was 2023 that is a long time, a lot has changed with both teams and a lot of hockey has been played (or not played). I think embarrassingly, in 2023 winning round 1 was kind of our cup in reflection. It was such a built up thing finally doing it was like complete emotional release. Hard to get back that desperation.

Every year you get worse. I love it.
