Brady Tkachuk Hitting from Behind

That could be a 1-2 gamer. Was a pretty reckless play with nothing but numbers showing.

that damn screw came loose again

is there another angle? that one looks like tkachuk sees numbers the whole time.

The high-angle replay they show around 0:15 has Zucker spinning around right before contact. That’s probably why it was called a charge and not hitting from behind or boarding. Tkachuk didn’t really see numbers the whole way, but he came in from a mile away, determined to throw a hit regardless of whether Zucker was in a safe posture or not.

Zucker did turn and unfortunately had his eyes on his skates not realizing Tkachuk was coming in for a hit. That said Tkachuk had some time to ease up but didn't really. For me that's a five and a toss but with no further discipline.

That has to be one of the most absolutely moronic hits I have ever seen.
From a member of an absolutely moronic family tree. We shouldn't be surprised.

He had plenty of time to lay off hitting him but steamrolled him anyway. Should be fined and suspended. But the NHL is all talk and no walk when it comes to "wanting to get those plays out of the game"

I think the refs only gave a 2 min because zucker changed his position a second before tkachuk hit him.

Go to the 0:16 mark of the video where it shows the angle more from above.

Zucker was looking for the puck in his feet facing Tkachuk, and then spin around as he realized the puck was behind his feet, so he spun to face the boards as Tkachuk already engaged in making a hit.

I was surprised it was only 2 as I was expecting a 5 and a game for that one.

This league is so inconsistent, one night he gets 2 for a clean shoulder to shoulder check against Dallas and then a few nights later he only gets 2 for a pretty clear hit from behind…
