Brad Lambert has long been considered one of the top prospects in the 2022 NHL Draft. Once expected to challenge for a top-two pick, that now seems unlikely after a disappointing season. The Finnish-born son of Canadian former pro hockey player, Ross Lambert is still an intriguing draft prospect. His uncle Lane Lambert was recently named New York Islanders head coach.

Lambert spent most of the year playing in the SM Liiga. He started the year with JYP, putting up two goals and six points in 24 games. At mid-season, he was transferred to the Lahti Pelicans, where he scored two goals and four points in 25 games.

Worth taking a chance on with the extra pick. Hopefully he comes over to NA to play in the CHL, not sure I like the Liiga as a development league for him.

I was really hoping to grab Chelsey, but considering how far down the draft he fell, could wind up being a good value pick.

Do people see him as more of a RW in the NHL, or could he potentially be a C?

Not a great fit on our current core but should fit by the time he’s ready to play.

Will be interesting to see if he can turn into a guy who can play against the other teams best or settles in as more of a PP specialist middle six type.

I like it better than our first pick. With a additional first round pick, why not take a swing. He will have a huge chip on his shoulder. And I agree with the commentators… get him playing in his own age group in the Dub.

He has the talent. Was on my don’t draft list because of his character, but the Jets must have a read on him. Worth the gamble. Now grab an RHD at 55.

Best skater among forward in the draft. Lots of skill and compete but a really tough year for him. If we can get this kid on track he's the steal of the draft. Had him ranked 9th. Very excited about this one.

Best skater in the draft and seemingly Räty 2.0. He'll probably dominate in u20s next month. Scored like 5 points in the 2 games in the WJC that was cancelled

So what’s the issue with this kid being ranked so high but dropping so far???

Arrogance that makes nobody want to play with him are the rumors.

I'm plenty happy with the pick. Could pay off really well.

Jets go with a potential high floor, low ceiling, meh skater in McGroarty, and then do the opposite in drafting Lambert with a very high ceiling, is a very fast skater, but has a much lower floor - though, who knows how much of the lack of that production is due to illness, injury (WJ), and other untimely absences (missed training camp and pre-season this year). This Summer he's apparently been training with Gary Roberts, and he'll definitely be playing in the delayed World Junior's. Not a bad risk to take for the upgraded pick from the Copp trade.
