I missed this article last year, it deserves a nice stf*** response to a notorious, of all people, hockey ignorant writer called Dan Shaugnessy.

Among the highlights:

The media horde covering the Knicks/Celtics was twice as big as the media covering Rangers/Bruins
The media is spending much more time covering the end of the Knicks season/offseason and getting excuses from “overrated ball hog Carmelo Anthony.â€
Jaromir Jagr was outside of MSG and “seemed†to go unnoticed. “Think this would happen if Jason Kidd stood on 33rd Street hailing a cab?â€
The Rangers don’t pull in as many celebrities as the Knicks do. When the Knicks were playing the Celtics “The Garden was a place to be seen.â€
The only star player they have is Henrik Lundqvist

I don't take anything Shaugnessy (or the rest of the Boston media) says or writes very seriously.

Correct me if Im wrong, isn't the Steelers and Celtics bigger than Bruins in Boston. Doesn't matter though lame article by a butthurt journalist.

I would be very shocked if the Pittsburgh Steelers were a bigger draw in Boston than the Boston Bruins ;)

The Patriots and Red Sox are definitely bigger than the Bruins in Boston. With how bad the Celtics have been recently, the Bruins have been the bigger draw. When the Celtics were good and the Bruins bad, it was the other way around.

Boston is writing about this because they have no hockey to write about. Boo ****ing hoo.

To be fair, the article was written last year during the Rangers-Bruins series.

Shaughnessy is an idiot even when it comes to Boston sports. I don't expect him to know **** about NY.

Like Boston is?

Look at the attendance figures from the early 2000's. Boston was always bottom 10, while the Rangers were top 10 despite being a terrible team.

Why does this joke of an article deserve its own thread? This just further proves Boston inferiority complex to NY, that they have to rip on us even when they aren't playing.

Who cares what others think? Newsflash: NY will be playing for the Stanley Cup while all the real "hockeytown" teams are golfing.

The Boston Globe is wrong!

After a metric ton of unavoidable material from our corporate masters, Al Trautwig clearly states that this is...
