Boston Bruins End of Season Presser

Whats hilarious is the Jacobs' refused to pay their arena workers when COVID shut everything down and only did so after being publicly shamed. Yet now they're crying poor.
Also added more seats to reduce fan comfort and increase profit. Immediate outrage from fans as most seats in the balcony hardly support an average sized person. Ownership committed to reevaluate and instead hid behind Covid and never did such a thing. $$$$.

yup, in terms of cheapness he really is as bad as Dollar Bill Wirtz. only difference is he pays a smidge more to make the playoffs to get the home game checks for a round.

This one was an all-timer of dudes throwing each other under the bus and ownership making a fool of itself. Here is one brutal clip:

Cam Neely and Don Sweeney took turns blaming each other for the last season while sitting right next to each other.

For those of you unfamiliar with what real life gaslighting looks like, I give you exhibit A.

Possibly the worst excuse ever. This might've made sense if Sweeney had come from outside the organization. He was AGM when he got hired/promoted so he definitely would've been involved in the draft prep process.

He was the GM of the AHL affiliate. He had been director of player development the year before and was very much involved in the Pasta draft. But in 2015 he was more involved in the hockey ops side of things down in Providence and certainly wasn’t doing any scouting.

Oh its worse, if Sweeney was so handcuffed by no prep time, why didnt he just take the BPA 3 times?! That would've gotten him Barzal, Konecny, Chabot.

Even if the scouts are convinced a reach will be a star, not taking Barzal with one of the picks is criminal. 2015 had the same team need as 2025, a young 1C.

Perhaps he thought it was wise to listen to the scouts who had found David Pastrnak the year before.

"are you going to reduce ticket prices because the team sucked this year?"

dumb question, why waste everyone's time asking something you already know the answer to

B’s we’re in the playoff race ‘til the 4 nations & sold off a bunch of players.
With a competent coach/system, healthy D core & Swayman playing like he can the Bruins should be fine next year
Who do you think they knock out of a playoff spot? East WC race will be a bloodbath next year if Boston bounces back and Detroit can avoid another late season collapse

Neely is soft, dont become all fragile over a question like that and ask to see the reporter in your office

your drafting SUCKS, just admit you havent been up to par and say we're working with our current prospects.
Those excuses for 2015 were embarrassing

But man that guy Dean they just drafted.......... he has massive conditioning and skating issues.
Just checked his stats -

Yiiiiiikes.

It would have to be done properly, uncertain if Sweeney is capable. However if the Bruins add a few offensive forwards, it solves the scoring issues and PP. The Bruins can easily compete for a wildcard slot over the likes of Montreal.

This offseason will be massive in determining the next decade.

Totally agree, complete asinine question. The answer wasn’t that awful quite frankly…could have been more polished, but I’d never expect such a question where I’d prep. “I know prices are going up for everything, but have you thought about reducing ticket prices?”

Yea I don't recall Kessel ever having character issues. If anything, he seems like a guy team mates love to go to war with.

Phil Kessel? No character issues? The guy who had a severe allergy to the gym and once refused to perform a breakout play in Toronto because it may have required him to take a hit? That Phil Kessel?

What an embarrassment. Blaming security and ushers having to be paid but never blaming ridiculous player contracts...*coughSwaymancough*

F Jacobs. Haven't attended a game since 2018, probably won't again as long as Jacobs is around. Ironically my last game at the Garden was Bruins vs Blues...a year before they met in the SCF
Why in the hell would he do that! The players is THE product. The players get paid by the owner. If there is overpayment, not the players fault, but the management's fault.

When something is to expensive or when the product is bad, stop purchasing. Don't ask the seller to decrease his selling price if he sells the product anyway.

So, you agree with me then. Ok.

And as I said, I haven't been to a game since 2018, so I'm doing what you said in the last part

Yeah, not really sure hah. Points will be at a premium.

Teams can implode & have crazy bounce back seasons. See, Rangers, Bruins, Caps. Couple injuries to key guys, who knows.

Awesome to see the Bruins keep Sweeney in place. You know, the guy who inherited multiple HoFers in their prime, 3 first round draft picks, and a team loaded with talent to build around, yet whose team other than one post season hasn't done squat in the playoffs. No Cups, very little in the pipeline, and a team that ended up in the cellar of the conference this season. Keep on keeping on, Don.
