To Jets: DeBrusk
To Boston: Stastny

Boston gets a potential upgrade at 2C for the playoffs, Winnipeg gets a natural LW (daily faceoff shows they've been using Stastny there). Both on expiring deals, salaries are pretty much even. DeBrusk is an RFA with a hefty QO for his current production, but if he jives with the Jets he may be worth it. If not, he walks just like Stastny probably would after this season.

I would say no from Winnipeg. The Jets are better off just getting a pick as opposed to taking a player with a high QO that he isn't worth and having to let him walk for nothing at the end of the season anyways.

Just leave him for Boston to not qualify and pick him up as a UFA if the Jets want him.

Also DeBrusk really doesn't give Winnipeg anything they need, so they should just go for a pick.

Has DeBrusk fallen off that much? I was hoping for a 2nd round pick for Stastny and I didn’t realize DeBrusk’s value was so low now.

We prefer right shots and the QO is a big turnoff so I think we’d try to sell Stastny for pick(s).

Value wise it's fine for WPG, it's just not a good fit.

Bad for the Jets cap wise, would just have to let him go for free this summer which defeats the point of trading Stats. Just give the Jets a 2nd rd pick.

Why should we trade for a UFA more or less when we most likley miss the playoff? Im pretty sure we can get more for Stats than DeBrusk, otherwise DeBrusk would have been traded by now.
