The one positive -- Laf has made two very good passes to create offensive chances this period. Unfortunately he passed it to Blackwell who took an okay shot on one and missed the net on the second one.

Lack of any offensive zone coaching showing again.

This team only wins when their big boys show up and out talent the opposing teams defensive system.

There is absolutely no structure or system in the offensive zone and it's infuriating.

Watching nothing shots being taken by borderline nhl'ers because they have no idea what else to do with it...

Ugh...

Lemieux is basically just an NPC that has been given a name.

If he wasn’t acquired by a trade he’d be a nothing player.

Laf just missed on that toe drag totally fooled rask. Ugh

complete no show by this team today

Jesus Christ that’s harsh and depressing.

It’s true. I appreciate the hustle from those guys, but we have 4-5 guys in the lineup who are 27 going on 28 and not remotely a full time NHLer.

27 years old 560 games 390pts
29 years old 541 games 327pts
27 years old 509 games 267pts
25 years old 265 games 160pts
27 years old 187 games 51pts
23 years old 154 games 44pts
25 years old 148 games 40pts
27 years old 111 games 24pts
27 years old 43 games 17pts
27 years old 60 games 13pts
23 years old 29 games 5pts
19 years old 18 games 3pts
1,341 total points

Thats today’s full forward lineup.

Patrick Kane, for example, has 1,053 career points. Ovechkin has 1,294.

With Panarin out of the lineup, we’re just a shallow, young team and the guys at the top of the points/experience scale aren’t nearly as experienced or accomplished as they could be. A vet like a Toews (contract is terrible, just using as an example) would probably be huge for this team.

Yes, it usually happens when they can’t get their players playing at an optimal level, wow see how that works?!
Let's bring in Gallant he's never been fired. Oh wait. Boudreau? Babcock? Even Q has been fired.

Unless its Scotty Bowman your argument makes no sense.

This is a fan base that thinks Keenan is a cure all or Messier with zero coaching experience would be good coaching hires.

Just wish we had more composure, structure and some moxie when the other team plays well. We didn't establish any forecheck or cycle that whole period. No offensive zone possession. So, sending players to the net or anything for shots/rebounds/deflections isn't even an option.
Boston is making a point. They got embarrassed last game. They're a contender with a championship mindset and players who have Cups. We have a long way to go towards that
