After the first 5 minutes it wasn't even a terrible game. They're just not creating anything.
Because Boston tightened up. They went toe to toe the first few shifts then took the foot off the gas a little and B's started tilting the ice, resulting in the Geo thing and subsequent goal, which was a good shot. People blaming Geo lost his marbles and got beat. That was a good clean shot. If that was Laf, people wouldn't be saying Rask was woozy.

Sorry for the fans who expected them to kick the Bruins ass again. Yeah, they made mistakes. But the Bruins are one of the better teams in the league and they showed up to play today. The Rangers are getting their hits in, they are limiting the Bruins shots. They had a few chances themselves. It sure would help if our 1C ever did ANYthing, but I guess we're past, "He'll breakout soon" and moving into "lost season for Mike".
AND remember, we are still missing out second line.

I'm still looking for a solid effort the last two periods. We'll see.

they need to drive to the net like last game. Bruins pushing them to the walls better this game. They still need to man up and drive to the net HARD.

Is anyone going to ever do anything to this fat POS Ritchie? He headshotted Shesterkin in the first game against Boston, he was kicking Lafreniere when we was down on the ice last game and now today he falls on Georgiev’s head and is swinging punches at Lindgren while Lindgren is being held by the ref.

Someone needs to open this dudes face. Like come on.

Sadly I doubt anyone has the balls.

This was not Flyer 1st period bad, but it wasn't Friday night 1st period good either.

They should be better than they were in that period.

I think the Bruins initiated the physical play a bit more and the Rangers seemed ok to resort to poke checking as opposed to playing the man.

Mika looks like absolute dogshit right now. He looks really bad. Can't get off simple wrist shots. Timing on one timers is bad, accepting passes like hes playing with the stick upside down.

The indecision on shooting had crept back in their game.

Friday showed that they CAN play better smarter more physical hockey.

Hope they show that in the 2nd.

But if the Bruins get back to early season hockey, this game can absolutely be a 2-0 shutout

With all the pp time Mika has got and the horrible one timers he's attempted how many goals does he have on the pp this year? 1?

What we need is for our top 2 lines to establish a consistent forecheck. Period. We do that and we may not win but at least the game will tilt in our favor.

That said, we controlled a good portion of that period - even with Mika and Buch looking like crap. And Stromer killing his lines forecheck a few times.

Quinn sucks but this lineup is brutal and Mika doesn’t look like he’s ever going To figure it out this season . This is what the team is right now, like I said last game was a fluke. Unfortunately it probably bought DQ more time

once Panarin, Kakko, and Chytil come back we should be better but right now we have one to pick up Mikas garbage

I’m not sure we’ll be that much better with them back. Maybe a bit more bearable to watch, but results? Panarin is still putting up points but he’s not controlling play and impacting games like he did last year. Chytil, I’m cheering for super hard, but 3 points in 5 games isn’t enough for me to say he’s turned the corner and is going to look great (which he did before the injury) for 50 games consistently yet. Kakko, likewise, I’m rooting for him super hard and he looks better but he has 3 points in 14 games. Honestly, this team is just going to suck this year, regardless. Unless Chytil is coming back and putting up a .6 point per game pace minimum, those two returning to the lineup just makes it a little less frustrating than watching Brodzinski nightly.

And how is it that the PP is still so devoid of movement? Standing on the perimeter passing the puck around while basically stationary is NOT working and will never be a recipe for success. Especially on a 4 on 3 with all that open ice. What are you doing? What exactly does David Oliver do? The PP literally only looks good when Panarin wills it to be good in spite of the poor plan or whatever they wannna call it.

they did nothing they did last game. Hitting got them engaged. Instead they just took it
Hits were 21-18 NYR in the 1st.

This is an odd season. Detroit is winning a lot of games as are teams like the Hawks and Sens and Kings that you wouldn't have expected to do well. I'm guessing teams sometime just aren't totally there and ready like they used to be and give away games. Last game was one of them from the Bruins. Even the one against the Caps we won.

Lemieux is the only one on the team with a mean streak and Ritchie is out of his weight class.

I'm with you. Im seeing posts filling specific narratives. Pitchforks come out the second there's some adversity.
Bruins are good, the entire first line is MIA which creates huge downward pressure, and a rookie D is having rookie D problems against a heavy team. They've gotten dummied some games physically really BAD, this isn't anything like that. Outside of Mika being terrified which I just accept is the way it is for some reason.

Every year he comes into the season spending 10-12 games trying that Ovie one timer when he's not getting the right tee ups and he's not Ovie. Then he figures out he needs to wrist it instead. This year the gripping of the stick has him trying the one time stuff longer than usual.
