Agree this was the best thing that could happen to korpis development, he got extended time at nhl level, and was Very, Very, good. He was never overwhelmed, and seems to have a great mental aspect to his game. Let him compete in the playoffs with that pressure, and roll with him, and Bob next year.

I'm not sure how I feel. I hope Bob plays Friday since I'll be there and I hate everything about the team, fans, and city thats going to be in town. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Bob get chased due to rust. Cmac... won't go there. Wish Korpi coulda got one more game.

Not mad about him coming back to Cleveland though!

Korpisalo was as much affected as Hännikäinen at thus finding one of his countrymen. For he too was an exile from home, and a friendly voice, a look, brought the old country back to his memory again.

I wondered same thing, but he needs to look at big picture, he can go to Cleveland and compete for the cup, and continue to play every night.

Then hopefully "pissed off" is his best state of mind for outstanding play!
No idea about how that would affect a G's mindset - Lehner, obvious. Others are better in Zen-line state. Who knows, just know that I like what I saw, and other than shutting Bob down for the year, this move was inevitable. Should be interesting summer/camp.

Well, I foresee at least 6 losses in the next 8 games as Bob works off his "rust". Too bad. Would have liked to have beaten the Pens. The "tank" is definitely back on.

#21 ranked goalie is sent down. Man for the future.
Yeah he should be pissed but what else could they do?
And what will happen next season? Curtis is signed for one more.

Unless Torts doesnt know what hes talking about, just last week he said it would be Bob, with Korpi regularly to keep bob fresh. My guess is Curtis is bye bye

I missed that, but if he really is talking about now and not, say, next year, then this may well be a paper transaction.

Of course, that would assume that we can send down CMac and recall Korpi, and I don't recall how the callup rules work after the deadline in that regard. Going by vague recollection, I think CMac would not be able to play for LEM in the playoffs...?

Hopefully CMac gets some quality starts to showcase what he can do for another team. I got to think Bob is going to get a bunch of time though.
Hopefully we get December Bob and not October Bob.

CMac requires waivers. Not sure any team wants an .890/3.3 goalie with another year on his contract.

Korpisalo is eligible for the AHL playoffs as he was on the roster (momentarily) on 2/29. McElhinney would be ineligible.

Worst case scenario, CMac plays in Cleveland next year as insurance for an injury prone Bob and still learning Korpisalo.

The Cincinnati Cyclones are very grateful for Bob's return.

Brad Thiessen who has been lights out in the AHL during Bob's absence will come back to the ECHL. A Kelly Cup is now a real possibility for the Cyclones.

Korpisalo can't be happy with turn of events.
