Don't know how Blues fans feel about Berglund but i'v got a proposal here:

To Blues: T. Plekanec 6 000 000

To Habs: Berglund and Yakupov 6 200 000

Why Blues do this:
-Think Plek is a better all around player than Berglund, he's signed for another year and think he's the kind of guy Hitch like.
-Berglund is UFA at the end of the year.
-They throw away Yak who didn't seem to be a good fit with the blues.
-The cap is close to even

Why Habs do this:
-With Plek gone, they have the room to sign Radu and Galchenyuk
-It's the last chance for Yakupov, maybe the reunion with Galchenyuk can work for him ... Radu-Galch-Yak could be terrific ...
-Berglund is a good replacement for Plekanec this year ... the Habs will see next yeay for the #2 C

Oh and you can take Flynn if you want !!!

so basicly you put our best winger offwing, so yakupov can play with a guy who had chemistry in junior where the 2 arguably 1st overall were on the same team?

dont get me wrong i have always been a fan of yakupov and always defended him and still do because he was one of my favorite prospect and it had nothing to do with the fact that he played with galchenyuk, but with Radulov aboard and gallagher on the right side the ship has sailed for yakupov in montreal because theres no way either radulov or gallagher will go offwings, being better current players than yak

We would just end up scratching him like the Blues have been doing.

I'd prefer just to have the cap flexibility added if Berglund or Yakupov leave after this season. We're fine with keeping Yakupov and trying to develop him for a full season. He's back in the lineup tonight, and it's not like he was in the doghouse like some may think.

Not the dog house. The " not as good as our 12 other players" house.

Good luck developing a guy in his fifth season, perhaps leopards can change their spots.

i dont get this comment... yak is playing in the NHL and still has plenty of room to grow, he still has a high potential, most players havent even played a single game at 21year old. get of the fact that he was drafted 1st overall its only a number.

You don't see a problem with a guy who has played progressively worse for three years in a row, who was traded for what could,at best, be described as scraps and who when scratched was described by his new coach the way I describe. His former team negotiated a second IF he scores 15 goals and the blues agreed to it. As for him coming to Montreal even with our top 6 problems he's not as good as any of them, nor can he play bottom six.

And what is the potential of which you speak? If you want to use yakupov and potential in the same sentence you should be obligated to include unrealised.

i dont see StL doing this... the extra 6M aint worth it

its Paul Byron

Byron is a LW

RW depth for the habs is:

Radulov
Gallagher
Shaw
Flynn/Carr/Andrighetto depending on the night

Yakupov isn't better than the first 3 so no need for him and berglund is a downgrade on plekanec

I'd normally agree, but Radulov plays LW very well too IIRC. He's basically a guy you can put in any role, any situation, and he'll do well.

i know he's played 2-3 games LW and done great, you still want you're best foward who gives everything everynight to play his natural position. honestly Radulov should of developed as a center. hes got everything to be a 1C. bit late for it but yeah lol

That's true, he should be put on RW if that's the best fit for him on the team. If a RW is available, that shouldn't stop you. He's played LW many times throughout his career, IIRC. I'm pretty sure he's one of those guys who is equally effective on either wing. Earlier today I talked with a guy on these boards who called Radulov "idiot proof." I think his description extends beyond the coaching perspective. Radulov can do well anywhere, anytime, and which wing he plays on isn't a big concern. I'd actually argue he's the most versatile player on the Habs aside from maybe Galchenyuk.

always been a fan of radulov, he never had the attidude people think he had, hes always been the guy who would be mad when losing and go hard, get heated and isnt afraid to yell at his teamate when its not going we'll i've said it was exacly what the team needed like 9month ago and said he should be Bergevins main target and people were calling me dumb. you can go read my previous post. now all the radulov haters "who knew the guy" are all fan, ***** please. lol

As many have suggested, it was an immaturity issue rather than character issue. There is obviously a big difference, but one is easily mistaken for another. Agreed, it's been pretty crazy to see how opinion on the guy has changed. What have you done for me lately? Eh.

I don't think you're suggesting I'm a "hater" or ever was, but I just want to make it clear I was posting about how I wanted Radulov badly on the Habs about 6-8 months ago, but never thought it plausible. Sure enough I drop them as my #1B team and a few days later they sign Radulov.

no no the comment was no way directing to you, it was a general post! i was so upset when they traded price and still think long term its a very bad trade. i still have to admit weber is playing amazing and is probably more effective with Montreals type of game, my only concern is webers contracts. but as soon as we signed radulov, i got so happy cause i knew having weber+radulov would make us a better team than having subban!

I figured as much, I just wanted to be clear. :)

I think you mean traded PK though. And we're on the same page with regards to both situations it seems like. Weber has been very, very good for Montreal so far. Anyone that suggests otherwise is wrong. I'm currently being proven wrong as far as my opinion on how Weber would do in Montreal. Long term, we'll see, but he's fit as well as anyone could have hoped in Montreal.

But I still really cant understand how its so easy to drop or pick up teams based on trades and not personal ties or instant liking. So if the Bruins pick up Subban, are they your favorite team? Just like that?

He many times do I have to explain it? I hate the Habs management group. THAT is what made me drop them. The Subban trade was one of a thousand reasons.
