He was actually regarded as a pretty decent prospect back then though, not a blue chipper by any means but a lot of people believed he had a real shot to make it. Obviously he didn't but just saying not sure he belongs in that category.
I was going to say the same. One caveat, I think he was taken a bit high.

I thought that when he was drafted, but it looks pretty bad in retrospect.

Does Dylan Peterson have any potential to be an NHLer?

Dvorsky just assisted on the GWG in OT.
I do think he has a future as a third or fourth line player. He’s very good defensively and isn’t afraid to block a shot. Excellent forechecker and smart player. The primary assist was a beautiful stretch pass by Johannesson to send Matt Luff on a partial breakaway

I think Peterson understands his limitations and is adjusting toward a perfect trajectory to the NHL as a better version of MacMac. He’s smart. Real smart.

And that’s not meant to be a knock on MacMac.

Seems like you've seen some Thunderbirds games, what do you think of him? Pretty impressive production so far for a 20 year old.
I think he will be a top 6-9 guy. He can really skate, 200ft player, and has More skill than advertised. Konawalchuk really likes and trusts him in all situations.

Stancl’s skating has really improved. He’s flying out there vs Vancouver.

Hope you're right on Kaskimaki! Been a fan of his for a while.

Agree with you on Stancl, he looks way faster this year. I remember watching him at the WJC last year and liking a lot of his game (size, IQ, winning board battles, etc) but being worried his skating would keep him from making an impact at higher levels. He obviously still has a LONG way to go but looked like a different player this year in pre-season/training camp...much faster and more dynamic.
